2023 New Jersey Arts Annual: Mother Nature Vs Human Nature

The New Jersey Arts Annual is a unique series of exhibitions highlighting the State’s visual and performing artists. In partnership with major museums around the state, one exhibition takes place each year, alternating between host institutions. These exhibitions are open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey.

2023 National Day of Racial Healing

The Creating Change Network, in partnership with the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Center at Rutgers University - Newark, seeks submissions from arts organizations, schools, universities, and individual artists for inclusion in the National Day of Racial Healing events calendar. Submitted events should be connected to the theme of “Redefining and Rebuilding Community” related to race and racism. Participants may be eligible for up to $350 in project support from the Creating Change Network.

American Music Abroad

In cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, American Voices arranges a series of in-person and virtual exchange programs that include concerts, live-streamed concerts, collaborative performances with local traditional musicians, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and jam sessions. The programs focus on younger and underserved audiences, with little or no access to American music, in over 140 countries around the world.

All American musical genres are welcome to apply.

Main Street Lenders Grant

The Main Street Lenders Grant program provides grants to eligible micro business lenders, which the lenders can use to create new micro business loan products, or supplement existing micro business loan products. Lenders can also qualify for additional grant funding to provide technical assistance to micro businesses, to better prepare these businesses to qualify for loan products. The maximum amount that any eligible entity may apply for is $1.5 million ($1 million lending grant and $500,000 technical assistance grant).

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, created in 1966, is a division of the NJ Department of State and a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. The Council was established to encourage and foster public interest in the arts; enlarge public and private resources devoted to the arts; promote freedom of expression in the arts; and facilitate the inclusion of art in every public building in New Jersey. The Council receives direct appropriations from the State of New Jersey through a dedicated, renewable Hotel/Motel Occupancy fee, as well as competitive grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
