In partnership with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the Council will host a virtual information session about the NJEDA’s new Cultural Arts Facilities Expansion (CAFE) Program. This incentive program will provide financial resources to support capital projects for arts and culture venues across New Jersey. Learn how your organization can benefit from transferable tax credits, covering up to 100% of eligible costs for new and rehabilitation construction projects ranging from $5 million to $75 million. The 2026 Open Call seeks proposals for new artistic works in the Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Film, and Literature.

The Creative Capital Award provides unrestricted project grants of up to $50,000 to individual artists to create new work.

The new State of the Art Prize provides unrestricted artist grants of $10,000.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is hosting quarterly Teaching Artist Community of Practice meetings. These virtual sessions serve as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council. These sessions provide an opportunity to network with other New Jersey teaching artists, share challenges and successes of working in our state, and discuss what teaching artistry could look like as we move into the future.

Research Grants in the Arts and NEA Research Labs

Research Grants in the Arts funds research studies that investigate the value and/or impact of the arts, either as individual components of the U.S. arts ecosystem or as they interact with each other and/or with other domains of American life.


NEA Research Labs funds projects that support transdisciplinary research teams grounded in the social and behavioral sciences, yielding empirical insights about the arts for the benefit of arts and non-arts sectors alike. The NEA may enter into up to one subsequent renewal award with the recipient of a NEA Research Labs grant for a project consistent with the intent of these guidelines. Any such future awards are subject to agency priorities, the availability of funds, awardee performance, and the agency’s regular review process.
