CHAMBER UPDATES | APRIL 28, 2023
Chamber Leaders-

As many of you know, one of our community leaders passed away two weeks ago. Bob Clippard, one of the longstanding advocates of Colerain died of natural causes as he approached his 78th birthday. Our chamber family honored him as our first chamber Hall of Fame inductee in 2017 and his legacy carries on as we recognize his leadership in Colerain. Our collective condolences go out to the entire Clippard family, especially Jennifer Caunin who has been a longtime chamber board member.

As I think about leadership, in last month's newsletter I mentioned that we would be hosting a leadership conference and I'm pleased to share that it will be held in conjunction with the John C. Maxwell organization on Tuesday, October 24th at Mercy Health - West Hospital. Not only will there be presentations from nationally recognized leaders (including the distinguished author and motivational speaker John C. Maxwell) but we will also hear from local leaders from the Northwest side as they share their experiences and insight to help us grow professionally. Please set aside October 24th (8am - noon) and bring your leadership team to this amazing event. Registration is now open.

Thinking about events, as you've seen and will see below, there are so many things that you can plug into, I can't list them all. I will, however, remind you of our largest and most well attended event of the year and that's our Hometown Hero event on June 22nd. The Hometown Hero will be sandwiched between the Reds game on June 6th and our Vintage Baseball Game on July 3rd; all of which are detailed below.

Finally, this month I would like to say a special THANK YOU to everyone involved in the Spruce Up Colerain event which was held this past weekend. We are thankful to Colerain HOPE, the leadership at Colerain Township, and all the volunteers across Greater Northbrook and Groesbeck. This would not have been possible without the leadership of Gail Nolte & Dale Beck (Side By Side) for organizing and thanks to Duke Energy, Vinebrook Homes, LaRosa's Pizza, Angelo's Pizza, and P&S Diner for providing lunch for everyone. Susan Bennett (Thrivent) also provided each volunteer with a t-shirt. Supportive volunteers from the Colerain Football team, Boy Scout Pack 710, eLife Ministries, and others gave the Clippard YMCA, Colerain Park, and our community a fresh look and we hope everyone takes notice.

Wishing you all the best this Spring.

CHAMBER & COMMUNITY UPDATES
100th YEAR ANNIVERSARY

We are thrilled to congratulate Clovernook Country Club, a valued member of our Chamber, on their 100th year anniversary! Founded in 1923 by Powell Crosley Jr., Clovernook has a rich history that has helped shape the community of North College Hill.

The club was originally established on the 108-acre farm of Mary and George Schild, which was purchased for $28,000. The renowned golf course architects Langford and Moreau were hired to transform the farmland into a championship golf course that has remained virtually unchanged over the years. With large undulating greens, manicured fairways, stone bridges crossing two creeks, and natural lakes, Clovernook has become known as Cincinnati's true hidden gem.

Join us as we celebrate their 100 years of success and
continued excellence in the years to come!
EVERY WEDNESDAY | 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Cincinnati, OH 45252

The Colerain Chamber of Commerce Golf League meets each Wednesday for social golf in a competitive 9 hole format; men and women are encouraged to play. The league will run through September at scenic Pebble Beach Golf Course in Monterey, California. Each Wednesday, our private jet leaves Lunken Airport at 3:00pm and with the time change going west, we arrive just in time to get our round in. Cost has been reduced to $2,500 per week due to David Denny's generous subsidy.

Of course, if you've gotten this far, you'll realize that I'm kidding about the travel to California. Pebble Creek (here in Colerain) is an incredible host and in addition to our 12 weekly regular players, alternate players can play on a week to week basis. Every skill level is welcome, as this is a social league with an opportunity to network with other members of the Colerain Chamber community.
Details:

  • Cost will be $25.00 (not $2,500) per week per player, paid at Pebble Creek.
  • Players will be matched up differently each week to allow for maximum networking and variety.
  • Non-chamber members are welcome to participate.

Please sign up early or us know if you would like one of the open spots.
