July Missions Collection: School Supplies

For the next several months our church will highlight various donation opportunities to enable us to help members and families of our community. For July we are asking for SCHOOL SUPPLIES which will be handed out at the upcoming Mobile Pantry event (July 25). Donation is easy — we appreciate your generosity toward our neighbors in need!

  • Like to shop? Simply select a bag from the Welcome Center, shop the list located in the bag, return full bags to FFUMC by Sunday, July 19.

  • Don't like/have time to shop? You can make a financial gift via online giving or note “School Supplies” with your check or cash gift and place in offering or mail to: FFUMC, 12733 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934.

The Sunday Circle

Worship happens in rows. Growth happens in circles.

Join us after worship for The Sunday Circle, a casual gathering where the conversation continues. Together we'll take a deeper look at Sunday's message, ask honest questions, share different perspectives, and discover practical ways to live out God's Word. There's no homework, no pressure, and no long-term commitment - just grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join the conversation whenever you can.

While worship inspires us in rows, lasting faith is often formed in circles as we listen, learn, and encourage one another. Whether you're new to church or have been walking with Christ for years, The Sunday Circle is a welcoming place to grow in your faith and build meaningful relationships. Pastor Drew is a frequent guest, helping guide the discussion, answer questions, and offer additional insight into the week's sermon. We'd love to have you join the circle!

Music Sunday – Scriptures & Songs

Sunday, July 12 | 10:30 a.m. Worship

Join us for a special morning of worship as we celebrate God's story through Scriptures and Songs. Similar in spirit to our beloved Lessons & Carols service, this unique worship experience will weave together meaningful Scripture readings and a variety of musical offerings that proclaim God's faithfulness and grace.

Our Worship Director, Brian Clay, along with members of our worship ministry, will lead the congregation through solos, choir anthems, band selections, and congregational singing in a service designed to inspire, encourage, and draw us closer to Christ through the gift of music.

Come expecting a meaningful morning of worship as we hear God's Word and respond together in song.

Best Wishes to Karnard and Jasmine McCray!

Our Outreach Director, Karnard McCray is moving to Mississippi to take on a full-time position in college athletics. Karnard joined our staff last year to take leadership in developing an outreach ministry to college students, funded by a District grant for 1 year. Through his leadership we reached over 25 college students and young adults through worship nights and serving ministries. Please pray for Karnard and his wife Jasmine as they transition into their new positions in Mississippi later this year. Karnard’s last Sunday will be July 12.

Student Missions Week

We are excited to offer Student Missions Week this summer, taking place July 13–17. Students will arrive each day at 8:30 AM and be dismissed at 5:00 PM.

Each morning will begin with a time of devotion and prayer before students head out to serve at a different local mission project in the community. After their service time, students will eat lunch together and enjoy a fun community-building activity such as bowling, visiting the arcade, and more. They will then return to the church to reflect on the day and discuss what they learned about themselves, their community, and Jesus.

On the final day, students will celebrate the week with a party and meal provided. Registration is open now! We hope your student will join us for this meaningful week of service, faith, and fun.

2026 Mobile Pantry

On Saturday, July 25, FFUMC will give away a Second Harvest truckload of food to our neighbors in need. The food will be distributed beginning at 8:30am and ending at 10:30am. In addition to food, school supplies, gently used coats and children's clothing will also be distributed!

If you would like to help by donating needed items, we are collecting boys clothing/shoes, school supplies, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Our July Missions Collection is school supplies so starting this Sunday you may pick up a donation bag from the Welcome Center. Each bag has a shopping list; simply purchase items and bring your filled bag back to church by Sunday, July 19. Items may be dropped off in the Missions collection area (alcove to the left as you are entering the Community Room).

No time for shopping? You can donate financially and we will do the shopping for you! You can donate online or by check/cash (note: "School Supplies" in the memo or offering envelope.)

If you would like to help by volunteering, sign-up sheets will be available at the Welcome Center. There will be plenty to do as we prepare for and serve our community at this amazing event and we need YOU!

Help Us Build Homes & Hope in Loudon County!

Our church is teaming up with other local congregations to assist Habitat for Humanity in constructing one or more homes in Loudon County. This is a great volunteer opportunity for us to meaningfully change a family’s life in our community.

Whether you enjoy hands-on construction work, painting, clean up, or preparing lunches for the construction crew, there is an opportunity for everyone to participate.

Please contact Ray Peterson at ray.peterson7927@gmail.com to express your interest and to learn more about the project. Work days will be available to suit your schedule - contact Ray for available dates.
