Making disciples of Jesus who love, grow, and serve.

Welcome Brian Clay

to the FFUMC Staff on July 1

Hello First Farragut!! My name is Brian Clay, and I’m honored to be joining you as the new Director of Worship here at First Farragut UMC.

A little about me ... I'm originally from Chicago, but grew up in Atlanta, so I'm a southern city kid! Worship has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember—not just as a musician, but as someone who deeply believes in the power of music to draw us closer to God and to one another. I’ve spent many years leading worship, producing music, and working in both church and professional music settings, and I truly believe that worship is one of the most beautiful ways we live out our faith in community.

I moved to Knoxville from Atlanta about 15 years ago with my amazing wife, Rhonda. We have a match set of kids - two gals and two guys - all adults and living around the country ... the only one still at home is our lovable black lab Max (who has a facebook page). I can’t wait to share more about myself and get to know more about you very soon - and I’m excited to get to know you, grow with you, and help create worship experiences that are both spirit-filled and grounded in God’s love.

Thank you for welcoming me so warmly—I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!

With joy and gratitude,

Brian

We are made to be together. But sometimes it’s hard to find a place to connect. We want to make it easier for people in our community to connect with one another.

On August 10, FFUMC will have an opportunity for you to connect with other through a Small Group Fair after worship. You will be able to meet new people, learn about their group, or sign up to create a new group of your own! We hope you will plug-in with us on Connection Sunday!

During the August 17, 2025 week, First Farragut will be hosting Family Promise families.

Family Promise is a national nonprofit organization that helps families with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They offer a variety of services, including food, shelter, and classes on family stabilization. To perform this mission, First Farragut needs volunteers to launder linen, setup and breakdown guest rooms, prepare an evening meal, evening host, and overnight host (will sleep over night)

Contact Montgomery Lokey 865-438-6308 for specific questions or to sign-up to volunteer.

The Psalms hold a profound place in our daily lives, offering a rich tapestry of reflections that resonate with the full array of human emotions. From joy and gratitude to sorrow and despair, the Psalms capture our deepest feelings, acting as a mirror to our souls. They guide us closer to the heart of God, inviting us to find solace and strength in His presence.

In our series, Psalms for Everyday, we are exploring how the psalms connect us more deeply with the God of all creation. You can listen to the first sermon of the series by clicking the link HERE.
