Making disciples of Jesus who love, grow, and serve.

Toys, Toys, Toys!

In the month of November, we will be accepting donations of toys ($10-$15) that will be given to each child who attends Christmas Community Day. Please stop by our table in the lobby to grab a gift tag, or you can leave a donation and we will shop for you!

We are also in need of new or gently used medium to large Christmas gift bags. There will be boxes on Main Street labeled Toys and Gift Bags where you can drop off your donation. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Cleveland (368-3795) or Karen Warnick (748-2978).

The Angel Tree is here!!

First Farragut has the opportunity to provide gifts of clothing and toys to 20 students of the Wesley House afterschool program. The children are elementary and middle school students so the age range is 5 – 14. You are invited to take an angel from the tree, sign your name beside the number of the angel you took (This is an important step if you need to be contacted for some reason!), shop to your heart’s content, and then wrap, tag with your numbered angel, and return the gift to church by December 3rd. The angels numbered 1 – 20 are clothing angels (sizes on back) and angels numbered 101 – 120 are toy angels. If you have questions, please contact Ondie Reese, (865)909-9301 or [email protected].

Decorating the Church for Advent

You are invited to help beautify our church for the Advent- Christmas Season. From moving trees to hanging ornaments, there is a job for all ages. We will meet in the Worship Center from 1pm-4pm on Sunday, November 19 to decorate. If you want to help others connect with Christ by creating a worshipful environment this holiday season, please sign up at the Welcome Desk or to sign up online ffumc.org/events.

Looking for an adult Sunday School class?

Several classes currently meet at 9:15 each week. New classes are also in the works! For information about joining an existing group or beginning a new one, email Renni Morris or call 865-966-8430.

Our church has been praying for God to send more children to participate in the ministries of our church, and God has faithfully answered our prayers with abundance! Now we must faithfully respond to God’s work in our community by caring for the children God has placed in our care.

We invite you to join our growing First Kids ministry team. No experience is necessary. All that is needed is your willingness to be part of shaping young hearts and minds for Jesus. You will be blessed by Sharing Christ’s love through our Sunday morning ministries:

  • Kids Grow will meet at 9:15 every Sunday.
  • Kids Worship will meet at 10:30 on Sundays, except for Communion Sundays so that children can receive communion alongside their parents.

For any questions email:

Makayla Halford, Family Ministry Coordinator, at ([email protected])

or Pastor Drew ([email protected]).

First Farragut UMC has been invited to join fellow United Methodists in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to bless a family. Though the work will not begin until early 2024, it is important that our congregation determines how best to serve. There are many ways to serve in this partnership including:

  • Cleaning, sweeping, and painting,
  • Providing meals for workers,
  • Offering prayer onsite for workers,
  • Helping with general construction and carpentry, and
  • Serving in the Habitat ReStore thrift shop.

If you are interested in serving with Habitat for Humanity, please sign the interest form at the Welcome Desk or online at ffumc.org/events.

Do you want to clean out your closets AND help children? You can accomplish both by donating used books for Christmas Community Day. We will take any/all books you no longer use. We will keep any kid’s’ books and swap out the rest for McKay’s credit. We will use credit to buy more books to distribute on Christmas Community Day (12/3/23).

There will be a box on Main Street labeled CCD books where you can drop off books. Please contact Lynn Kirchner (659-0264) if you have any questions.
