This Sunday is New Members Sunday!

Though membership isn't a requirement to participate in the ministries of First Farragut UMC, it is a way to express your Christian commitment within a community of believers.

If you want to unite with our church and our mission to create spaces that inspire people to cultivate faith, serve in mission, and share the love of Jesus, then come ready to do so this coming Sunday, August 30!

Gentle Yoga with Jen

Free yoga classes are coming this August! Jen Braun is nearly finished with her yoga teacher training and is now ready to gain experience through practice teaching. Classes will be offered every Saturday in August at 9am at no cost to you. Grab your mat and join Jen for a gentle yoga session.

August Missions Collection: Undies Sundays

In preparation for Community Christmas Day, we will be hosting "Undies Sundays" throughout the month of August. We are collecting donations of socks and underwear for Wesley's Attic.

Please bring your contributions to the Missions Collection area across from the Worship Center. For socks, we are requesting no-show or ankle socks only. Thank you for your generosity and support! 

The Sunday Circle

Worship happens in rows. Growth happens in circles.

Join us after worship for The Sunday Circle, a casual gathering where the conversation continues. Together we'll take a deeper look at Sunday's message, ask honest questions, share different perspectives, and discover practical ways to live out God's Word. There's no homework, no pressure, and no long-term commitment - just grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join the conversation whenever you can.

While worship inspires us in rows, lasting faith is often formed in circles as we listen, learn, and encourage one another. Whether you're new to church or have been walking with Christ for years, The Sunday Circle is a welcoming place to grow in your faith and build meaningful relationships. Pastor Drew is a frequent guest, helping guide the discussion, answer questions, and offer additional insight into the week's sermon. We'd love to have you join the circle!

Day With the Bishop: August 31

The TN Valley District Day with Bishop Wallace Padgett will be held on Monday, August 31 at First UMC Knoxville, 3316 Kingston Pike. Schedule:

• 10:30am - Clergy visit to the Magnolia Ave Ministry
• 1:00pm - Executive Leadership Team Planning Meeting
• 2:00pm - Zoom with District Superintendency Committee
• 6:00pm - Leadership Gathering for Clergy and Laity

Join us every Wednesday in September for Midweek Meals & Ministry

The evening starts with a free meal at 5:30pm. We will have a short Bible Study led by Pastor Drew while we enjoy Dessert around 6:00pm. The study will end at 6:45 as Choir and Worship Team rehearsal begins. Childcare available upon request (use the RSVP button below).

All meals will be catered (except the final meal) and we ask that you register early for this event so we can adequately supply enough food for all.

Pastor-led Study: "Dinners with Sinners"

Dinners with Sinners is a Bible study that explores one of the most beautiful themes in Scripture: God's ability to redeem every story. Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly chooses unlikely people—failures, outcasts, rebels, doubters, and more—to accomplish extraordinary purposes. As we gather around the table and study the lives of David, Paul, Rahab, Peter and Judas, we will discover that no one is beyond God's grace and that our past does not have to define our future. Through conversation and biblical reflection, we will examine how God's redemption transforms broken lives into powerful testimonies of faith, hope, and purpose.

Worship Team

If you want to offer your musical talents in worship, this is a perfect time to join in! No experience is needed – simply join other musicians as we grow in our musical gifts by offering praise to God through rehearsal on Wednesdays and Worship on Sundays!

Fall Re-Launch: First Kids Music & Mom2Mom

Beginning September 13, 4:30-6pm

Pizza dinners every Sunday

Some of your favorite ministries are back this fall! Join us on Sunday evenings from 4:30–6:00 PM as we kick off another exciting season of connection, creativity, and growing in faith. Kids Choir (K–5th Grade) returns September 13th with singing, acting, games, and a full Christmas performance featuring speaking parts, solos, and new songs! If your child loves to sing, perform, or just have fun with friends, we would love for them to join us. Littles Music & Movement (Preschool and under) is also back, giving our youngest learners the chance to sing, explore instruments, and learn about God’s love through music and movement. And Mom 2 Mom returns this fall in the library as moms continue walking through the journey of motherhood together through fellowship, encouragement, and Bible study. Pizza dinners will be provided during these ministries each Sunday as well. Registration is open for Kids Choir.

Kids Night Out: Hollywood Night

Lights, camera, fun! Join us on Friday, September 18th, from 6:00–8:30 PM for a Hollywood-themed night filled with games, crafts, pizza, a Gospel presentation, and a showing of SING! Kids are invited to dress for the red carpet, whether that means a superhero costume, ballgown, or dressing as their favorite celebrity!

Our trained and background-checked volunteers are excited to bring this special night to life and create a safe, fun environment for every child. This event is open to children birth–5th grade and to the entire community.

Adult Mission Trip – Hinton Rural Life Center

Are you ready to serve in mission through FFUMC? We are planning a mission trip for adults to serve through the Hinton Center in Hayesville, NC from October 21 through October 25. No matter what your skillset may be, there is a place for you to serve! This trip is open for all adults. 

Schedule:

10/21 – Arrive in Hayesville for dinner and orientation

10/22 – 10/24 – Workdays and Programming

10/25 – Enjoy breakfast, worship, and depart

Cost is $425 per person and will include all meals, materials, projects, programming, and sleep accommodations (private rooms & bathrooms). Individuals are responsible for their own transportation (carpool available).
