A Night at the Ballpark

Take me out to the ball game! Join FFUMC at the Smokies game on Friday, July 31 at 7:00 PM. 

For all those who registered, group tickets were purchased in advance. You will meet our group leader near the team store between 6:15-6:30 to get your ticket(s) the day of the game.

Game Highlight: Paint the Park Pink

Fans and players will have the opportunity to recognize loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer during our in-game ceremony. The Smokies will be wearing specialty pink jerseys that fans can bid on and take home. The night will conclude with a postgame fireworks show! (Presented By American Cancer Society)

Summer Fireworks Series: Stick around after the game to watch a spectacular fireworks show! The show will begin immediately following the conclusion of the game.

Gentle Yoga with Jen

Free yoga classes are coming this August! Jen Braun is nearly finished with her yoga teacher training and is now ready to gain experience through practice teaching. Classes will be offered every Saturday in August at 9am at no cost to you. Grab your mat and join Jen for a gentle yoga session.

August Missions Collection: Undies Sundays

In preparation for Community Christmas Day, we will be hosting "Undies Sundays" throughout the month of August. We are collecting donations of socks and underwear for Wesley's Attic.

Please bring your contributions to the Missions Collection area across from the Worship Center. For socks, we are requesting no-show or ankle socks only. Thank you for your generosity and support! 

Serving on Sundays

One of the best ways to grow in faith and build meaningful relationships is by serving alongside others on Sunday mornings.

Whether you're welcoming guests as a greeter or usher, preparing coffee, serving in Kids Ministry, reading Scripture, helping with communion, or joining the worship team, there's a place for you to use your gifts.

More than filling a role, serving is an opportunity to make a difference and deepen your connection to the church as you participate in what God is doing in and through our community. If you want to serve, let us know by clicking the button below which will take you to an interest form.

The Sunday Circle

Worship happens in rows. Growth happens in circles.

Join us after worship for The Sunday Circle, a casual gathering where the conversation continues. Together we'll take a deeper look at Sunday's message, ask honest questions, share different perspectives, and discover practical ways to live out God's Word. There's no homework, no pressure, and no long-term commitment - just grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join the conversation whenever you can.

While worship inspires us in rows, lasting faith is often formed in circles as we listen, learn, and encourage one another. Whether you're new to church or have been walking with Christ for years, The Sunday Circle is a welcoming place to grow in your faith and build meaningful relationships. Pastor Drew is a frequent guest, helping guide the discussion, answer questions, and offer additional insight into the week's sermon. We'd love to have you join the circle!

Move Up Sunday: August 9

It's a BIG day for Kids at FFUMC

Have you been thinking about checking out First Kids? This is the perfect Sunday to start!

On August 9 at 9:15am, all of our children will move into the class for the grade they'll be entering this fall. Since everyone is moving to a new classroom, every child gets a fresh start together!

During worship at 10:30am, we will celebrate our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders during our annual Upper Elementary Bible Celebration. Each child will receive a special study Bible to help them continue growing in their faith. This special celebration is open to all children in those grades who have not already participated in previous years. 

Whether you've been attending for years or this would be your very first visit, we'd love to bless and welcome your family!

Next Steps Coffee

Are you ready to take a next step in your faith journey? Are you ready to connect with a small group, service opportunities, volunteering, or joining the church? 

Take your next step with us by participating in our Next Steps Coffee following worship on Sunday, August 16. Pastor Drew will lead a brief conversation about who we are, how to plug-in, and answer questions you may have about FFUMC.

Back(pack) to School Bash

Kick off the new school year with us at our Back(pack) to School Bash on Sunday, August 23! During our 10:30 AM worship service, we'll take time to pray over our students, teachers, and school staff with a special Blessing of the Backpacks, and each student and teacher will receive a small gift. Immediately following the service, join us on the lawn for a FREE Back(pack) to School Bash featuring lunch, inflatables, games, and fun for the whole family! Registration is free and helps us prepare for everyone attending, so be sure to sign up clicking or scanning the QR code below.

Adult Mission Trip – Hinton Rural Life Center

Are you ready to serve in mission through FFUMC? We are planning a mission trip for adults to serve through the Hinton Center in Hayesville, NC from October 21 through October 25. No matter what your skillset may be, there is a place for you to serve! This trip is open for all adults. 

Schedule:

10/21 – Arrive in Hayesville for dinner and orientation

10/22 – 10/24 – Workdays and Programming

10/25 – Enjoy breakfast, worship, and depart

Cost is $425 per person and will include all meals, materials, projects, programming, and sleep accommodations (private rooms & bathrooms). Individuals are responsible for their own transportation (carpool available).
