April always brings showers, along with growth, possibility, and the chance to connect with our community in meaningful ways.

We celebrate Earth Month with one of the nation’s largest Earth Day Festivals right here in Forest Park. We also observe Fair Housing Month, a commitment that extends beyond April, as we strive to help our clients achieve their real estate goals every day.

Of course, April in St. Louis has more to offer, whether it's soaking up live music, browsing local art, or just enjoying the first signs of spring. I've got a few suggestions for you to join me in making it a great month in St. Louis!

April 5th - 6th

This weekend, you'll find the 49th edition of the Queeny Art Fair! This juried Fine Art and Fine Craft show also features live music and activities for the kids, all at the accessible Greensfelder Rec Center in Queeny Park in Ballwin!

This afternoon, you can head to the Kranzberg Arts Center and check out the closing reception for the exhibition The Sun is Still There Even Behind the Clouds. The reception will feature curator Eileen Cheong alongside artists Jen Everett, Sukanya Mani, Kiki Salem, and Coco Liao.

Later, you can check out Sophie’s Artist Lounge and street art gallery for an immersive and electrifying evening as they present "Abstrakt Beat-Etiquette: Rhythmic Dance Palette & Live Brass" featuring the dynamic talents of The Lamar Harris. ​

I may have mentioned St. Louis' great culinary scene once or twice :) We have two chefs who are 2025 James Beard Award finalists! Tonight might be a good night to try to snag a table at Vicia, where you'll find Emerging Chef Finalist Jane Sacro Chatham. If you can't get a table or are looking for a different vibe, you have another choice with Best Chef Finalist, Loryn Nalic's restaurant, Balkan Treat Box. Congrats to them and the five other semifinalists for having their exceptional talent and achievements in the culinary arts & hospitality recognized by the prestigious James Beard Foundation.

Sunday kicks off the first Sunday Brunch Tour of the spring, where you'll enjoy a 2-hour riverboat cruise featuring live entertainment, chef-inspired cuisine, and stunning views of the riverfront and downtown. It's St. Louis' one-and-only floating brunch!

The 20th Anniversary Builders St.Charles Home Show is this weekend! You'll find free admission and the opportunity to shop the latest home improvement products in one convenient location. Local companies bring numerous experts to this event, offering valuable home improvement knowledge and advice. Of course, there's stuff for the kids and prizes.

While you're in the area, consider stopping by our Harvest Townhome open house at 463 Sunset Hollow. This brand-new 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath gem is offered at $ 299,000!

Did you know that, outside of Bosnia, St. Louis has the largest Bosnian population in the world? You can head to the St. Louis Holocaust Museum on Sunday afternoon for a discussion on the tragic events that led to St. Louis welcoming Bosnian refugees 30 years ago. Why Memory Matters: The Case of the Bosnian Genocide is a panel discussion that is sure to provide some enlightenment on the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On Sunday night, you might find me at The Blue Strawberry with Tatiana Eva-Mari and the Avalon Jazz Band. Nicknamed “the Gypsy-Jazz Warbler” by the New York Times, Tatiana is a transatlantic bandleader, singer, and actress based in Brooklyn. It is followed by open mic night. It all promises to be a great show and I promise not to try to make it to the stage ;)

April 10th- 13th

Join the National Association of REALTORS® on Thursday at Noon for a livestreamed event. Fair Housing Forward will host a panel of experts who will discuss the racial wealth gap and the future of fair housing and technology. Award-winning authors Louise Story and Ebony Reed will discuss their book Fifteen Cents on the Dollar. Then, freelance journalist Michele Lerner moderates a segment on ongoing fair housing challenges, including algorithmic bias and how technologies like AI will come into play. Additionally, NAR President Kevin Sears will announce the 2025 NAR Fair Housing Champion Award recipients.

The NCAA Men's Hockey Frozen Four will be here this weekend. It's a great addition to the St. Louis sports scene in April as we have Cardinal baseball and the Battlehawks football games at home, too! St. Louis City SC are playing this weekend, but they'll be in Columbus.

It's Free Friday at the St. Louis Art Museum and you can enjoy an overview of the exhibition Roaring: Art, Fashion, and the Automobile in France, 1918–1939 with Genevieve Cortinovis, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Associate Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, followed by a conversation withautomotive historian Ken Gross. The ticketed exhibition opens on Saturday.

Gaga Nights is giving you a reason to defrost your meat suit on Friday. Come for Gaga, stay to hear the best of all your pop faves–including, but not limited to: Ke$ha, Duo Lipa, & Kylie Minogue. It's all going down at Delmar Hall in The Loop!

Also on Friday, you'll find INFRARED: Kudda + Dhoruba "Jazztronica Set" which features Makini “K Kudda Muzic” Morrison, is a St. Louis-based jazz pianist, hip-hop producer, and composer blending jazz with indie soul and alternative hip-hop. I'm looking forward to checking out their genre-defying artistry and jazz sound at The Dark Room in Grand Center.

Saturday might be a good day to check out a farmer's market or two as several of them are now open for the year. In addition to fresh produce, many f them offer something a little special. Perhaps you'll visit Tower Grove's Saturday Market complete with live acoustic music, yoga, & food trucks.You can head over to The Delmar Loop for University City's Market, which has their market music series, culinary demos, wellness education, and children’s activities on one of American Planning Association's 10 Great Streets in America!

Since 1976, folks have enjoyed live music and strolled through the open-air mainstreet vibe of Kirkwood Farmer's Market. The fine folks out west have a producer only approach which ensures ensures seasonal offerings like fresh produce, flowers, and herbs, as well as the best handcrafted artisan products at The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market. They feature a variety of ranchers providing chicken, beef, pork, and more, all raised locally. You'll also find live music and yoga every week along with special events throughout the season with interactive activities for adults and children.

Record Store Day will be celebrated at Euclid Records in Webster Groves with live bands starting at noon and free libations from: 4 Hands Brewing Co.,Urban Chestnut, & Logboat, with food by Felix's Pizza!

On Saturday night, the Chaifetz Arena in midtown might be the place to be as Joe, Musiq Soulchild, & Eric Benét will be blessing the mic with The R&B Invitation Tour.

Beach Bash 2025 will be upon us at Moshmellow. Tix are only 5 bucks if you wear beach attire.

On Sunday, join The Opera Theatre of St. Louis in applauding the accomplishments of their Artists-in-Training students at their culminating Spring Recital! Cheer on the stars of tomorrow at this free concert at The Sheldon Concert Hall.

April 18th- 20th

It's Third Friday at Craft Alliance (and everywhere else ;) and they join the other organizations of the Delmar Maker District to celebrate with live craft demonstrations, hands-on activities, music, food, and the chance to find a beautiful handmade piece or two in their shop. The events are family-friendly and also make a great date night!

On Saturday, you can enjoy a special Jazz performance featuring legendary St. Louis pianist Ptah Williams and jazz musicians Glen Smith and Al Barnes at Evangeline's Bistro and Music House in the Central West End.

Bingo, anyone? It's happening at Tim's Chrome Bar on Sunday afternoon, for free. They'll supply the cards and daubers. Just bring yourself and your Bingo loving friends. Play for some good laughs and a variety of prizes.

April 25th-27th

Whether you're coming for the food, the music, the activities, or the people-watching, the St. Louis Earth Day Festival promises that you'll leave a little more inspired about the real progress being made to preserve our planet and a little more connected to those on the front lines. I hope you'll join me on Saturday and Sunday as this is one of many St. Louis festivals that we eagerly anticipate every year!

On Saturday or Sunday, we might head over to Brunch at Evangeline’s Bistro & Music House, complete with live music!

Taylorville, a tribute to Taylor Swift, is happening on Sunday afternoon at The Factory. If you're looking for a bit of a different flavor, Dvořák's Cello Concerto - Radiant Warmth with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be at the Stifel Theatre on Sunday night.
