Board Election Results

Voting closed May 30 in Optimist International's Board of Directors election, and the results are in. Congratulations to Sandi Schmidt and Rod McKendrick, who will serve three-year terms as Board Members beginning in October.

Sandi Schmidt Sandi Schmidt is a retired accountant and project manager and a member of the Moline Breakfast Optimist Club (Illinois) and Bettendorf Optimist Club (Iowa). She has held multiple leadership positions at both the Club and District levels and been an active participant in many club projects since she became an Optimist in 1993.

Rod McKendrick A retired police officer and victims' advocate, Rod McKendrick was appointed to the Order of Canada, that country's highest civilian honor, for his work with the Saskatchewan Attorney General's Office toward ending interpersonal violence. A member of the Regina Downtowners Optimist Club, he has held many Club, District and international leadership positions with OI since he first joined an Optimist Club in 1996.
