Optimist International Oratorical World Championships 

The Optimist International Oratorical World Championships is this Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29 at Saint Louis University Center of Global Citizenship in St. Louis, Missouri. Speaking order for Regions will be determined and announced on Wednesday, June 27.

2018 Ottawa Convention

Thank you to those that have registered for the 100th Optimist International Convention in Ottawa! We will see you in just a few short weeks. If you have not registered yet, there is still time. Service Project
The Youth Services Bureau (YSB) is a multi-service organization supporting at-risk youth throughout Ottawa. Since 1960, YSB has been honored to work with young people aged 12 to 24 to help them meet their physical, emotional and psychological needs. YSB is sincerely grateful to be receiving the support of the delegates of the 100th Annual Optimist International Convention in Ottawa. Your support will directly benefit young people in our programs. Delegates are encouraged to donate new casual/sport socks (unisex) or new pillowcases (standard size, any color) and drop them off at the YSB booth located in the Community Involvement Expo at the convention at the Shaw Centre in Canada Hall 2 on the 3rd Level.
 
Live from Ottawa
All the action at the 2018 International Convention will be streamed live. The Board of Directors meeting, the Opening Ceremonies, and the Business sessions will be streaming live on the Optimist channel at optimist.org/stream .
 
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to distribute registration packets on Saturday, July 7, Sunday, July 8 and Monday, July 9. To volunteer, contact Anne McBride at azoptimistanne@gmail.com or (520) 205-2445.

Participate in the fun by serving as a table host or hostess at the “From Sea to Sea to Sea” Appreciation Luncheon. Danielle Dupont is looking for registered Members and guests who would like to volunteer their time. For more information, please contact Danielle at danielledupont@videotron.ca or (819) 923-1293.

Help show the public what being an Optimist Member is all about and sign up to help in the Community Involvement Expo (formerly known as the House of Optimism). Dan O’Connell and Michelle Turner are looking for people to help staff tables, make announcements, among other things – you will have fun doing it. Clubs can also display projects. Reel Optimism Contest Winners

The results are in - congratulations to the Breakfast Optimist Club of Kalamazoo and the Junior Optimist Club of Farmington Steam Academy ! Both Clubs will receive a $1,500 Club Grant. Clubs will be awarded at the Ottawa convention. Thank you to all Clubs for participating and voting in the 2018 Reel Optimism Video Contest. 
Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation

The Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation is proud to have contributed to the success of the Club Optimiste de Saint-Arsène’s fundraiser. By offering the Club seed money, we helped them raise more money to cover transportation fees to the university hospital for families of the community.

Do you wish to Spread Relief in your community, just as the Saint Arsène Optimist Club? Apply to the Spread Relief program before June 30 and we may invest up to $3,000 in seed money to your childhood health or wellness related project.
