Greetings from JOI President Julia Cooper

Hello my fellow Junior Optimists and welcome to a New Year of Optimism! For those of you who don’t already know me, my name is Julia Cooper and I am your Junior Optimist International President for the 2019-2020 year! I am a senior at Sinclair Secondary School and I live in Whitby, Ontario, Canada.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love music, singing, and acting. This is why I have chosen the theme, Singing in the Key of Optimism to reflect my passion for creativity and music. I strive for this year to be filled with many new and creative ideas.

Myself, along with the new Junior Optimist International are very excited for this year and have some amazing ideas for the year and for our convention. Our convention this year is in Schaumburg, Illinois and is going to be a blast!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Yours in Optimism,

Julia Cooper
Junior Optimist International President

Nominate the next great OI Foundation leader

Do you know a great Optimist who would be an asset to the Optimist International Foundation Board? Nominees must:
  • Have served a full term as a District Foundation Representative
  • Commit to supporting the Foundation with time and donations.
  • Commit to four years of service as a member of the Board.

For more information or questions, contact Craig Boring OIF Executive Director at [email protected] .
Can you spare a Dime-A-Day?

The Optimist International Foundation funds and supports many of Optimist International's key programs, including scholarships, grants and other activities.

Support for the Foundation is vital to the continued success of the OI mission, as members' dues do not fund these programs. Please consider a gift to OIF so we collectively can help more children and communities. Our Dime-A-Day program is a great way to support the Foundation on a budget. Click here for more information .
