ARE YOU A PACESETTER?

We hear about trendsetters and more recently, influencers but Optimists has their own special people known as Pacesetter. What is a Pacesetter? Well, a Pacesetter is the Governor of a District that is Net + 15 in membership by June 30th and has chartered two or more new adult Clubs by June 30th. These Governors will be recognized at the Atlanta Convention for their District’s hard work!
THE COUNTDOWN TO CONVENTION BEGINS!
Get your District, Club, or your name on the Optimist Home Page!

To help offset the cost to produce the hybrid convention, consider contributing an addition $25.00 by adding the gold registration! Revisit your registration or contact [email protected] if you would like to add it to your existing registration.

CERTIFIED TRAINER CLASSES OFFERED AT THE ATLANTA CONVENTION
Have you given any thought about working to become a Certified Optimist Trainer and didn’t know where to start? Well, one of the first steps is to take the Club Trainer class that will be offered on Monday, June 28, at the Atlanta Convention. This class will help you to sharpen your training skills and decide if you wish to become part of the Certified Trainer program.
This is an all-day training session that begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until approximately 4:00 p.m. Class size is limited so you must sign-up in advance no later than June 10, 2021 to reserve your spot! Please email [email protected] if you are interested in attending.

The District trainer class will also be offered during the Atlanta Convention on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. You must have taken the Club Trainer class at least six months prior before you can take the District Trainer class. This is also an all-day class starting at 9:00 am and finishing at 4:00 pm. You must register prior by June 10, 2021 in order to take this class. Please email [email protected] if you wish to register.

I believe each of us were put on this earth for a purpose. No matter who we are or where we come from, we each have a calling, something we are supposed to do while we live on this good earth – to be who we were born to be. A great many of us go through our lives distracted by how we do something or achieve our life’s goals never realizing our purpose or “why” in life. Becoming a member of Optimist International and getting involved in its mission can go a long way in helping you identify your calling or purpose. click to read more...

Reminder: Optimist Club election time!
All clubs must indicate their chosen Club Foundation Representative (CFR) in their election reports.
The Optimist clubs across Canada have been facing fundraising challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic. This has not deterred the resilience, optimism and desire of many Optimist clubs and members to continue to help their communities. We can take inspiration from some recent initiatives such as the Optimist Club of Regina ‘s cookbook. Sharing much-loved family recipes for a good cause is a sure comfort food remedy in a time where it is difficult to go to a restaurant or even buy take-out food. The Optimist Club of Clinton put together several ‘Family/kids kits’ and sold them for their fundraiser. They offered 3 types of kits including a Kid’s Outdoor Fun Kit; a Fire Pit Kit; and a Family Games Night Kit. Guaranteed fun for a good cause!
