Oratorical World Championships 2021 Winners
ST. LOUIS—In keeping with tradition, the 6th Annual Optimist International Oratorical World Championships came to a finale on July 23, 2021. The year’s theme "Healing the World with Optimism" had Nayana Celine Xavier from Virginia, USA, from the Mid-Atlantic Region taking first place honors. Second place was awarded to Julia Abbot from California, USA from the West Coast Region. Third place went to Corinne Quynh Lan Marie Hoang from Ottawa, Ontario from the St-Lawrence Region. 
2021 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship
The 2021 Optimist Junior Golf Championship held a couple of record breakers
Maria Jose Marin Negrete of Colombia -- shot an incredible 63 breaking the course record on Trump National Doral’s -- Red Tiger’s Course

  • Lucy Newell -- Red Tiger #2

Hole in ones are rare -- The odds of making a hole in one are 12,500 to 1.
Junior Golfers from around the world competed in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship which took place July 14-29, 2021 at Doral Resort in Miami, Florida.   This year we had approximately 575 golfers from 23 nations. The participants put it all on the line in very tight battles to win the Championship. Click Here for more information of winners and the Junior Golf program.

We want to thank all who were able to attend the 103rd Optimist International Convention in-person or virtually. Here is a glimpse of what is in store for next year in RENO!
Congratulations to the following Optimist Clubs which each earned a $3,000 grant for their projects under the CCOF’s Spread Relief Program:
• Optimist Club of Sydenham & District (46933) – Accessible Playground at Hibou Conservation Area
• Optimist Club of Prince Albert (13110) – Upgrade Snoezelen room
• Optimist Club of Port Stanley (45182) – Youth Covid-19 relief
Apply to the CCOF’s Spread Relief program before September 30,2021 and your Club could receive up to $3,000 for setting up a childhood health and wellness project in your community. The next deadlines are November 30th,2021, February 28th,2022, May 31st,2022 and August 31st,2022.
