Special Dues Announcement 

At the 2022 Optimist International Annual Business Meeting, held at the International Convention in Reno this past July, the delegates approved an increase in the member dues.

Member dues, although having cost-of-living adjustments, had not been raised by a vote of the delegates since 2009. At the meeting, the dues increase was approved as presented with a $15 (USD) increase for regular members in developed countries and $7.80 (USD) for members in developing countries.

Additionally, the Audit & Finance Committee has spent considerable time reviewing all the Dues & Fees related to the various categories of membership. This week, the Board of Directors approved the Dues & Fees schedule for the 2022-2023 Optimist Year.

At their June 28 meeting, the Board of Directors acted on two pilot programs:

The Board voted to conclude the International Development Pilot Program, effective September 30, 2022. Those clubs developed under this pilot will have a graduated dues increase to bring them into alignment with other clubs in developing nations. Those clubs effected by this change and their sponsor clubs will receive more information about this change in a separate communication.

The Board also voted to suspend the Special Needs Clubs/Adults with Exceptionalities to allow for a special review of this project to determine the efficacy of this program. At this time, no additional special needs clubs will be chartered until the findings of that review have been reported to the Optimist International Board of Directors.

Please note that all club membership adjustments and financial obligations for the 2021-2022 year are due into the Optimist International Office no later than September 30, 2022.
