A Mitzvah Day Thank You

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Mitzvah Day on Sunday.  Each one of you, in various ways, helped to alter an experience for a foster child who will be encountering a terrifying and confusing experience and entering the home of strangers.  Social Workers from 2 different counties are picking the duffel bags up and will distribute them to youth entering emergency foster placement. To the many who assembled the Comfort Bags on Sunday, a great debt of thanks comes your way.  Many of you put your mark on multiple duffel bags and gave so generously of your time, energy and spirit.  The Or Ami lobby was filled to the brim with the fruits of your labor!

And such a huge debt of gratitude to the scores of volunteers who came on Saturday and Sunday to put together and staff the stations.  Hours and hours off work and energy and enthusiasm went into preparing for the event and carrying it out.......to say nothing of cleaning it all up!

Listed below are names of the Saturday and Sunday folks who prepped the temple, going through thousands of items, and stood by the stations (folks who made the duffel bags are too many to name, but just as appreciated). Also included are names of those who made exceptionally large donations that we are aware of. We will inevitably miss some names and for that we apologize.  Please know, that whether your name appears or not, your contribution was quite important.

In no particular order: Terry Boykoff (yeah, he's first cause he's my hubby), Cathy Spencer, Sari Gassner, Debby Pattiz, Devyn Anderson, Robyn Altman, Megan Boykoff, Kristin Brenner, Adin Brenner, Al Brenner, Genevieve Buccieri,  Jill Citron, Rusty Citron, Jacob Cutter, Gabrielle Donas,  Jeff Frankel, Marcella Fried, Nathan Fried, Lisa Friedman, Gordon Gassner,  Gary Gluck, Shelly Gluck, Sid Goldberg, Lucille Goldin, Paul Goldin, Marsi Gore, Steve Gubner, Kerri Graver, Traci Greenberg, Fred Gruber, Susan Gruber, Carol Hanson, Hillary Harrison,  Rachael Harrison, Joey Kaz, Adam Kazden, Alan Kazden,  Mitch Kaye, Laurie Keleman, Steve Keleman,  Alison King,  Ellen Klinenberg, Steve Klinenberg, Aaron Koch, Lesli Kraut, Peter Kraut, Sam Levine, Liza Levine, Hanna Mandel,  Carolyn McNary, David Melnick, , Lauren Mulne, Ken Meyer,  Brian Padveen,  Heidi Padveen, Dani Pattiz, Jacob Pofsky, Karin Pofsky, Samantha Pofsky, Ike Praw,  Bella Rabbani, Tamara Rosenberg, Marc Rosenberg, Lily Rosenberg,  Cathie Rutkin, Richard Rutkin, Alan Schwartz, Elliott Seideman, Scott Sigman, Lisa Silverstone, Matthew Silverstone, Brian Steinberg, Elyse Steinberg,  Andrew Treiger, Nina Treiman, Sharon Weiss, Kiren Dosanjh Zucker.

A World of Thanks,

The Mitzvah Day Committee

Conejo Food & Shelter Program
Sunday Nov 27 @ 6:15 pm
There is no better time to help feed the homeless than the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. We still need a few  Or Ami families to help provide and serve meals to 50-60 men, women, and children at St. Patrick's Church in Thousand Oaks. This will be the final opportunity of 2016, as the program will start up again in April. For more information, contact Phyllis Rich, or simply RSVP below.
