Tisha B’Av Program: Mourning the Ancient and the Contemporary

Monday, August 12, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, 333 Cortland Ave*


Join Or Shalom for observance of Tisha B’av, a fast day commemorating destructions that have befallen the Jewish people throughout time and space. This Tisha B’av, we have much to grieve. Join us as we interweave the traditional chanting of the book of Eicha (Lamentations) with readings and exercises that allow us to grieve the ongoing destruction happening at present in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel. Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center Hillwide Garage Sale

This annual neighborhood-wide garage sale is organized to raise funds for the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center. With over 60 homes participating this year, it's sure to be a treasure hunter's dream come true! Click here for more info.

Community Thrift Store (623 Valencia) accepts donations of many things, which it resells to the public at low prices. If you donate and designate #130/Or Shalom, OS will get a large proportion of the proceeds, while you can clear out your place, get a tax deduction, and allow others to benefit from your donations. Win-win-win!

Food & Toy Collection Box at 333 Cortland Ave.
