"I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience" Traveling Exhibit

The National Museum of the United States Army, National Veterans Network, and The Army Historical Foundation held a special presentation about the U.S. Army’s first traveling exhibit, "I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience" at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in Orange County, California. Actress Tamlyn Tomita emceed.

The leadership teams from the National Museum of the U.S Army, National Veterans Network, and Army Historical Foundation traveled to Orange County from Washington D.C. to share information about the upcoming "I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience" exhibit with the community.

Tammy Call, Director, and Paul Morando, Chief of Exhibits, of the National Museum of the U.S. Army along with Christine Sato-Yamazaki, Executive Director of the National Veterans Network, introduced the traveling exhibit, which will launch in 2026. The exhibit will highlight stories of the Japanese American World War II Nisei Soldiers who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service.

General Eric K. Shinseki, 34th U.S. Army Chief of Staff, Retired, was the keynote speaker. He emphasized the importance of passing the Nisei soldier legacy down from generation to generation.

KABC News Anchor, David Ono, shared a moving presentation on a local Orange County hero, 442nd RCT Veteran Kazuo Masuda.

Harold Payne performed his original song, "Quiet Heroes" a special musical tribute to the Nisei soldiers.
