Accomplished All-State OHS Musicians
Congratulations to Orange High School junior Sandy Cohn (left) and senior Jamie Berland (right) on outstanding performances last month in Cincinnati at the All-State concerts. Jamie played the violin in the All-State Orchestra and Sandy performed on trumpet with the All-State Band. They earned the spots after numerous rigorous rounds of auditions.
Math Night 2020: Fun in Numbers
It was all about finding family fun in the numbers as Moreland Hills School presented “Math Night 2020" last month. Hundreds of students and their parents and guardians gathered together for a night of math thinking, games and activities. Some of the games included: Set, Four's a Winner, Domino Number Battle and Treasure Hunt. The goal was not only for collaboration that evening but to give families on-going ways to work through various math activities at home. See Photos
Champion S-P-E-L-L-E-R-S at Brady
No need to keep things C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-T-I-A-L as 8th grader Anjali Chepyala spelled that final word correctly to win the annual Brady Middle School Spelling Bee! Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th-grades were abuzz with excitement as each of the rounds heated up. Anjali will now go on to represent the Orange Schools at the city-wide Spelling Bee on March 7th in Cleveland with that winner moving on to Washington, DC to participate in the National Spelling Bee in the spring. Kiwanis Honors OHS Seniors
The Kiwanis Club of Lander Circle named Orange High School seniors Katriel Orlean (right, above) and Omer Sarig (right, below) as its Kiwanis Seniors of the Month for February 2020 and January 2020, respectively. Each year the Kiwanians’ Youth Services Committee works with Orange High School staff members to recognize OHS seniors who have shown significant contributions of dedicated service to the school community, civic involvement, exemplary integrity, attributes of leadership through actions and character, and academic achievement.

Katriel is President of the Spirit Club, Yearbook Chief Editor of Productions, Captain of the JV Girls Tennis Team, and creator of the Cleveland Culture Club. This National Honor Society member is also very involved in community service, spending time as a Book Buddies leader for the past three years. She also assisted at an orphanage in Italy as part of a service trip in 2018.

Omer serves as Student Government Treasurer, Varsity Soccer Captain, and is a member of the National Honor Society, all while maintaining a 4.6 GPA. The 4-year Varsity Letter winner in track and soccer, Omer has also been involved with Mentoring at Moreland, Model UN, and Rock Club, a group he founded that analyzes and applies the lyrics of Rock and Roll music into life lessons.
