Please Donate Today! Striving to Stand Out Fundraising Campaign

We’re just beyond a third of our way to our goal, it’s not too late! Please donate today, every little bit helps!

Why are we raising money?

We are Striving to Stand Out: Excellence, Access, and Community through the Arts! We want our BPA programs to Stand Out! We are raising funds to:

  • Support excellent high-quality educational experiences.
  • Provide access so ALL BPA students can participate fully in the program.
  • Collaborate with professional performing artists to enrich our programs and create community through the arts!

Why Do We Give?

Our BPA Booster Board is filled with current and former BPA parents who believe so strongly in the performing arts programs here at Ballard that they not only give of their precious time and diverse talents, but also make financial donations when possible. However, this is a small group of people so we need your support too. We hope their testimonials below will inspire you to make a donation in whatever amount works for your family.

“As a former Ballard High School teacher and current parent, I have been fortunate to see the performing arts program grow and change over the years. I always enjoyed having music and theater students in my classes and I am thrilled that both of my children are in the program. From the fall concerts, to the spaghetti dinner, spring musical and so many other events, it's heartening to see the dedication in the directors and students. The performing arts is a place that welcomes everyone and many young people find it to be one of the most rewarding parts of their high school experience.” - Cynthia Kemp, BPAB Vice President

“Ballard Performing Arts has enriched our son's life beyond all measure. The BPA community has become his second family and given him an incredible sense of confidence, joy and purpose. This program is absolutely vital to the overall well being of countless students who rely on this community for arts, kinship and a place where they belong and can share their gifts. Please give what you can and help keep this crucial program thriving.” -anonymous

Orchestra Concert Wednesday | Bake Sale Help

Join us in the Ballard High School, Earl Kelly Performing Arts Center (PAC) for the Orchestra Concert Wednesday Nov 8 at 7:30 pm.

There won't be livestreaming for this concert series, but the concerts will be recorded and posted on our YouTube channel to share with people who were unable to attend.

The concerts are free and open to the public, and we truly hope to see you there! The house was packed for the choir concert, so if you’d like to reserve your favorite seat while supporting Ballard Performing Arts (note: this is a totally optional fundraiser – no tickets are needed for the concert), you can do so here: https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/77293

Student Fundraiser | Order Coffee Now – Nov 15!

We are partnering with Caffe Appassionato in Magnolia once again to sell delicious 12 oz bags of coffee to family, friends, and neighbors. This is an important fundraiser for your BPA student if they are currently a freshman, sophomore, or junior. For every $14 bag purchased under their name, students will earn $6. That $6 is credited to that student's account and those funds can then be used for camp payments, or program fees in the fall, and they can even be transferred to a younger sibling when a student graduates. Sales without a student name or marked general will go to the music ASB account to help with music program support.

Choose from four delicious blends (in both drip ground and whole bean):

  • Arietta Blend - A medium roast with a mellow and smooth flavor. Notes of cardamom, tart, caramel and undertones of milk chocolate, strawberry and jasmine.
  • Tempest Blend - As a bold and strong French Roast, it accentuates a dark and full body with a smoky finish. Notes of caramel, toffee, and orange and undertones of raspberry, hazelnut, and cinnamon.
  • Espresso Blend - A bright and smooth Italian roast. Perfect for silky smooth espresso or robust drip.
  • Decaffeinated - A French roast that is smooth with a caramel finish. Notes of blackberry, almond, and toffee, and undertones of vanilla, cinnamon, and tangerine.

Orders can be placed online on the Schoolpay page between October 18 – November 15. Coffee orders will be given to students at their music performance in December (Dec. 12 - orchestra; Dec. 13 - band; Dec. 14 - choir). Students should then deliver the coffee to their customers. Thank you for supporting the performing arts!

Mark your calendars for these marching band events and upcoming performances:

  • November 9th - 3:15 (early release) -4:30 pm marching band rehearsal
  • November 11th - Veterans Day Parade, call time 7:30 am.

Concert Recap

The fall band concert was a sensational evening of music from Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble, as well as the Jazz Combo and Ballard Brass. The evening was concluded by the Navy band, who performed several pieces of music, including an engaging and unique “electroacoustic twelve-tone techno Latin bebop band piece.” The students were also treated to individual instrument group masterclasses after school, and then a catered dinner with some Navy band members. Thank you to Mr. G for arranging this, and to all the volunteers who helped make it a success.

Veterans Day Parade

The marching band will be performing at the Veterans Day Parade in Auburn. We still need help with uniform return. Please sign up to volunteer. The parade route travels along Main Street from E Street to A Street NW/SW and runs from 11-2. Call time for students and chaperones is 7:30 am (remember to wear band t-shirts and black socks!). We will update on return time via Remind. Please note the marching band rehearsal at 3:15 pm on Thursday (early release). We will need volunteer help for the marching band practice. Please sign up here.

Basketball Games for Pep Band

The band will be playing for various boys and girls basketball games between November and January. Each student needs to attend five games, and they can sign up for which five of the ten possible games they would like to attend on the signup sheet in the band room. They wear their band t-shirts to these games. We will also need one or two parent volunteers to be around the band room area while the game is going on. Sign up here.
