Born in Venezuela, Michael Sinn developed a passion for orchids at just 12 years old while caring for his mother’s collection of Cattleyas and Oncidiums. Growing up, he explored the jungles of South America in search of Cattleyas in their natural habitats, experiences that developed into a lifelong commitment to their conservation and preservation.

Michael later founded Canaima Orchids, where his focus has been breeding exceptional Cattleya species, including rare and unusual color forms. His breeding has produced plants recognized with orchid awards around the world, and he is an accredited American Orchid Society judge.

At our Almost Fall Open House, Michael will share his firsthand knowledge of Venezuelan Cattleya species, their natural habitats, and conservation, along with a special selection of orchids available for sale
