Prelude: Cup of Blessing That We Share Richard Gieske
Call to Worship:
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone;
this is the Lord’s doing,
and it is amazing in our eyes.
The Church will gather at the Table of the Lord,
from the north, south, east, and west,
the Church will feast in the kingdom of God.
Prayer of the Day:
Holy God, Maker of heaven and earth,
out of your great love for the world
you sent us your beloved Son.
Renew and restore us in this time of worship,
so that we may be the people of your vineyard
and bear good fruit for your holy kingdom;
through Jesus Christ our Savior,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
Hymn 331: God of the Ages (Verses 1 and 4)
Call to Confession
Prayer of Confession:
Sovereign God, we confess
that we are not ready for your holy kingdom.
You give us abundant gifts,
but we do not keep your commandments.
You sent your Son to save us,
but we sent him to his death.
Forgive us, merciful God,
and strengthen us to produce good fruit,
for the sake of Jesus Christ.
Assurance of Forgiveness
Hymn of Praise: Glory be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
Prayer for Illumination:
Gracious God,
we do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from your mouth.
Make us hungry for this heavenly food,
that it may nourish us today
in the ways of eternal life;
through Jesus Christ, the bread of heaven.
Amen.
Affirmation of Faith
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Invitation to the Table
Great Prayer of Thanksgiving
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
