Hymn of Praise When Morning Guilds the Skies, verses 1,2,3 (UMH #185)
When morning gilds the skies
 my heart awaking cries:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer,
 to Jesus I repair:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!

The night becomes as day
 when from the heart we say:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear
 when this sweet chant they hear:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!

Let all the earth around
 ring joyous with the sound:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!
In heaven’s eternal bliss
 the loveliest strain is this:
 May Jesus Christ be praised!

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Sovereign God, we are thankful for your ways of truth and steadfast love, fully revealed in the person and work of Christ Jesus. We see your goodness and transforming power, and want to wholeheartedly follow you. Yet too often our mouths say yes and our deeds say no, as we stray from your path. Forgive us, O God, for our arrogance and pride. Cleanse us of greed and selfishness. Align our hearts with your will, such that our best intentions are borne out in word and deed, to the glory of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Hymn – Thy Word
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
 and a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.

When I feel afraid, think I’ve lost my way,
 still you’re there right beside me.
And nothing will I fear,
 as long as you are near,
Please be near me to the end.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
 and a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.

Now I will not forget
 your love for me and yet
 my heart forever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide
 and hold me to your side,
 and I will love you to the end.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
 and a light unto my path.
And a light unto my path.
 And a light unto my path.

HymnI Surrender All verses 1,2,3,4 (UMH #354)
All to Jesus I surrender,
 all to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
 in his presence daily live.
I surrender all, I surrender all,
 all to thee, my blessed Savior,
 I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
 humbly at his feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
 take me, Jesus, take me now.
I surrender all, I surrender all,
 all to thee, my blessed Savior,
 I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
 make me, Savior, wholly thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
 truly know that thou art mine.
I surrender all, I surrender all
 all to thee, my blessed Savior,
 I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
 Lord, I give myself to thee;
Fill me with thy love and power;
 let thy blessing fall on me.
I surrender all, I surrender all,
 all to thee, my blessed Savior,
 I surrender all.
