The Lord's Supper

(Served every Sunday)

Holy Communion is celebrated in, with and under the bread and wine Jesus gives us his body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and one another.

Our Lord invites to His table those who repent of all sins, trust in Christ the Savior, believe in the real presence of His body and blood in, with and under the bread and wine, and forgives others as He loves and forgives us.

Those who do not know or accept the teachings of the Lutheran Church are invited to speak with the Pastor about joining the next adult instruction class so that they may become one with us in doctrine and receive the Sacrament for their blessing.

Pastor Leon Roberts

Thank you for being with us in Christian fellowship!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Intercession is a prayer of petition for the interests and needs of others. Just as the Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God so we also intercede. (Romans 8:26-27) The commitment to pray for others is a sacred privilege and is an example of faith in action.

Submit Prayer Request

We pray for those on our hearts today:

  • Joan Roberts - Continued prayers for her health and for God's peace and comfort.
  • Prayers also for Paula Southerland's daughter, Samantha, for health problems.
  • Please pray for Holy Cross's financial situation and for the Holy Spirit to bring us people to hear God's Word and Good News!
  • Pastor Robert's oldest sister, Sandra Fernehmyr, who has cancer and is refusing treatment or surgery. May God grant her peace and comfort.
  • Peace and comfort to the Janice Warnock family as they mourn Janice's loss.
  • Please pray for Ken and Becky Pfeifer as they travel abroad and enjoy their time away and for a safe return.
  • We pray that HC house at 6503 sells quickly.
  • Praise God for Pastor Leon's doctor removal of three meds!
  • Please pray for Mavis Southerland (Paula & Roger's granddaughter) who is 3 months old and has the flu.
  • Lois Klein may be released from Riverwood ALF soon after spending almost a year in rehab after breaking both legs.
  • Friend and classmate of Pastor Leon , Nancy Imperiale, as she is battling stage 4 kidney cancer that has mestastasized.
  • Ron Bassham (husband of Julia Bassham) who has prostrate cancer.
  • Cindy Miccolis, a friend in south Florida, who has a heart blockage. Cardiologist is deciding what next step is.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"

REMINDER!

Please remember to let us know updates on those loved ones and friends you have submitted prayer requests for. We always need to praise God for His will, His healing hands and outcome of requests. Thank you!

Sermon Theme: "Our God is Just, and He Helps Us"

"Who will rise up for me against the wicked?

Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

Unless the Lord had given me help,

I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

When I said, “My foot is slipping,”

your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.

When anxiety was great within me,

    your consolation brought me joy."

Psalm 94:16-19

Ash Wednesday Worship Service

Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.

The literal and figurative actions of mere human hands in the Bible are often the means of our own sin. After all, our own Lord was “delivered into the hands of men” (Luke 9:44). However, on a greater level, we know that it was the hand of the Lord at work all along, most especially in His crucifixion. Christ laid down His life of His own authority as He allowed Himself to be delivered into the hands of sinful men (John 10:18). His hands were pierced for the sins of the world. His hands rested on Holy Saturday. Yet, on the third day, He rose again. He now holds us in His hands, and no one can snatch us from His hand (John 10:28). Our Lord has hands, real hands. Jesus has accomplished all that we need. Amazingly, He takes our manipulative, distorted, self-serving hands and restores them into useful hands for His purposes, both to literally use them in service and to make our whole lives into His instruments of witness, service, and praise.

Please join us as we prepare our hearts and minds for the upcoming death and resurrection of Jesus on behalf of us – His dear children!

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
