*Call to Worship
Liturgist: Calling all children of the Living God: the gospel is good news for every age and every stage.
People: Let us worship together, the young and the old.
Liturgist: The good news is proclaimed in God’s words, and also with crayons, silly songs, snacks, and rest time.
      People: Let us worship together, every generation.
Liturgist: After months of learning behind screens or separated by dividers and physical space,
People: Let us worship together, with our family of faith.
      Liturgist: We may still feel uncertain, seeing so many faces again, but we come together seeking God’s peace in this beautiful community.
People: Let us worship together, united in Christ.

*Opening Prayer
Our loving and caring God, we need this time together to be united with our sisters and brothers in the faith; we need this time of worship to be comforted and strengthened in your presence. We hear of wars and rumors of wars. We read of persecution and oppression. Remind us again of your vision, that all might live in a world of peace and justice and love. May this time together imprint this vision and promise on our hearts, that we may live into this beloved community. Amen.

Scripture Readings
Isaiah 65:17-25

For I am about to create new heavens
    and a new earth;
the former things shall not be remembered
    or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever
    in what I am creating;
for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy,
    and its people as a delight.
19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
    and delight in my people;
no more shall the sound of weeping be heard in it,
    or the cry of distress.
20 No more shall there be in it
    an infant that lives but a few days,
    or an old person who does not live out a lifetime;
for one who dies at a hundred years will be considered a youth,
    and one who falls short of a hundred will be considered accursed.
21 They shall build houses and inhabit them;
    they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They shall not build and another inhabit;
    they shall not plant and another eat;
for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be,
    and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labor in vain,
    or bear children for calamity;[e]
for they shall be offspring blessed by the Lord—
    and their descendants as well.
24 Before they call I will answer,
    while they are yet speaking I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
    the lion shall eat straw like the ox;
    but the serpent—its food shall be dust!
They shall not hurt or destroy
    on all my holy mountain, says the Lord.

Liturgist: The word of God for the people of God.
People: Thanks be to God.

*Offertory Prayer
O God,
we long to make a difference
in our world.
We offer you what we have:
our visions and dreams;
our witness to your saving acts
of love and justice;
our resources to help bring
the new heaven and new earth
into our midst.
We offer you our very lives,
that we may be coworkers with you
to bring about true change.

The Blessing and Sending Forth
Have you heard?
Something new is coming,
a different world than the one we know.
And we’re the ones to help make it happen!
Let us gather together,
to support and encourage one another
and to praise God—
for new visions, for hope,
for new beginnings, and for new possibilities.
