*Opening Prayer
Holy, Creating, Creative God, we sing from the depths of our sorrow. We sing from the abundance of our joy. We sing in voices separate and unique. We sing with one voice as your body. May the words of our mouths, whether in speech or song, and the meditations of our hearts, whether in prose or poetry, be pleasing in your sight. Amen.

ATTENTION TO THE WORD OF GOD

Liturgist:
Scripture Readings
1 Thessalonians 1:2-5; 5:25-28

2 We always give thanks to God for all of you and mention you in our prayers, constantly 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers and sisters[a] beloved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our message of the gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of persons we proved to be among you for your sake. ….25 Beloved,[g] pray for us. 26 Greet all the brothers and sisters[h] with a holy kiss. 27 I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all of them.[i] 28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.[j]

Liturgist: The word of God for the people of God.
People: Thanks be to God.

Offertory Prayer

You have been faithful to your people, O God, from generation to generation. Through the years, you continually shower us with your love and blessings. Out of your abundance, we now share these blessings with those in need. We give, not to prove our faith, but because our faith empowers us to live fully and generously. Amen.
