Summer is over with all its Labor Day celebrations. Time now to line up your fall calendar and what better way to enjoy an evening out than with The Lancaster Playhouse musical celebration of Fall for Theatre Friday night September 21 at 7:00 pm.

Join fellow theatre lovers at the Knights of Columbus Hall (343 East Walnut Street) for an evening of Broadway show tunes from an amazing repertoire. Perhaps you will hear some old standards but don't be surprised if you hear some new music as well.

Get a table of friends together, come to support community theatre in Lancaster and help us launch our 4th season of exciting theater by joining us for this fundraising event.

We can't do it without you! Come support your local theater and help us celebrate another year. In addition to your musical evening you will enjoy:

  • A wine and cheese reception with the performers and your theater friends

  • AND, in keeping with our upcoming season theme, you will also enjoy some "Mischief and Mystery." Who knows what might happen as you might discover some fun gifts that will be hidden

Doors will open at 6:30pm. All seating is general admission (some ADA seating is available).

Tickets are available on line now. Suggested ticket donation is $40.00.

Look who will be on stage
Cabot Rea, local TV personality for 30 years and current star on the Central Ohio musical theater scene has been a featured soloist with The Columbus Symphony, Jazz Arts Group and many other local groups.

His many roles in musical theater include playing Tony in West Side Story, Curly in Oklahoma!, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, Billy Bigelow in Carousel and Lancelot for the Kenley Players tour of Camelot (with Ed Ames as King Arthur). He also spent two seasons with the Ohio Light Opera Company singing leads in most of the Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire.
Performing on stage for over 30 years, Jennifer Myers is a native of Lancaster, Ohio and returned to the Central Ohio area 3 years ago, after being in Chicago for 15 years. She was most recently seen as Dolly Levi at The Ohio University, Lancaster Festival Production of Hello, Dolly! and will next be seen at Weathervane Playhouse in October in The Full Monty.

Other favorite roles in recent years include, Mrs. Sowerberry in Oliver! at Gallery Players, Mrs. Higgins, in My Fair Lady at Northland Performing Arts Center, The Wicked Witch in  The Wizard of Oz at Ohio University- Lancaster Festival , Blanche Dubois, in A Streetcar Named Desire at Wheaton Drama, and Les Miserables, (Ensemble) at Gallery Players.

She serves on the Gallery Players Theatre Committee and is also a Member of Wheaton Drama in Illinois. She is proud to be a Founding Member of the Lancaster Playhouse.

She is the Associate Director of Sales at Hotel LeVeque in Columbus and resides in Bexley, Ohio.

Angela Russell is excited to be a part of this fundraising event for TLP! She just finished music directing Hello Dolly! at OUL Lancaster. Sher served as music director for Guys and Dolls with Roundtown Players and Hairspray with Grandview Carriage Place Players and Westgate Recreation Center.

Some of her theater experiences have included portraying Gertie in Oklahoma!, Auntie Em in Wizard of Oz, Lu Lu in Footloose, Mrs. Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest, Ms. Bedwin in Oliver, as well as various solos and duets within Fairfield Christian Church productions.

This year she was hired along with her husband to be a seated actress with Columbus Dinner Detective. She has had the pleasure of ministering on the gospel cruise, Singing at the Seas with the Royalaires for the past two years. Angela is a 1st grade teacher at Brice Christian Academy. When not performing she loves spending time with family! 
Paul Russell is once again excited to work with The Lancaster Playhouse. He is very active in numerous local churches including First Church of God and Fairfield Christian where he is involved with the worship and media teams. He is also joining OUL as a freshman, this fall, to finish the scholastic journey he began 25 years ago.

Russell has appeared in many local shows including, Hello, Dolly! (ensemble, featured waiter, policeman), Hairspray (Wilbur Turnblad), Guys and Dolls (Benny Southstreet), Wizard of Oz with OUL (Uncle Heny/Guard), The Journey (King Herod), Wizard of Oz at Wagnalls Theatre (Zeke/The Cowardly Lion), 1776 (Joseph Hewes), and in Oliver (Mr. Bumble). 

Paul is very thankful for the support of his loving wife Angela and his children and for this opportunity to work with The Lancaster Playhouse.
Judy Rauch, a well-known pianist in the area, is serving as the accompanist for this evening's program. While living in northeast Ohio, she played for the Youngstown Philharmonic Chorus and the Kent State Choral Department. After moving to Newark, she has been accompanying various choirs at Denison University, as well as a variety of high school and middle school choral programs.

While teaching vocal music for the Lakewood Local Schools for over 25 years, she served as the Musical Director for both the Granville Players and the Weathervane Playhouse in Newark for 37 years during the summers. After retiring from the position of Director of Music at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Newark, she presently is serving as the Director of the Alleluia Ringers Handbell Choir at St. Peter's Lutheran Church here in Lancaster.

What package fits your calendar?
You can now order your season ticket package online for the TLP 2018-2019 season. Your ticket package will secure your seats for Harvey in October 2018, Deathtrap in February 2019 and Clue-The Musical in May 2019. A season ticket package is $55.00. For a recap of the plays, Click Here

New features of the upcoming season and ticket packages include:
  • Each show is now scheduled on two weekends
  • Evening performances start at 7:30pm
  • You get to pick your seats when you order online and when you order from a laptop or desktop computer. If you order from a mobile device the system will assign you the best seats available.
  • You pick the package that suits your schedule
  • No additional service fees for your tickets

Ticket packages you can choose from are:
  • FIRST FRIDAY at 7:30pm (Dates 10/19, 2/15, 5/3)
  • FIRST SATURDAY at 7:30pm (Dates 10/20, 2/16, 5/4)
  • SECOND FRIDAY at 7:30pm (Dates 10/26, 2/22, 5/10)
  • SATURDAY MATINEE at 2:00pm (Dates 10/27, 2/23, 5/11)

If you are unable to use or share your season ticket for a particular production please consider donating it back to The Lancaster Playhouse. Call The Lancaster Playhouse Box Office at 740- 974-6648 prior to the production to alert us to your donation. Thank you for your gracious consideration.

Are you looking for a creative outlet for your time and talent but haven’t quite found it yet? Consider volunteering at the Lancaster Playhouse!
The theater could use help with ushering, greeting guests, working at intermission, building sets, managing props, costumes or publicity. Actors and directors are volunteers too. Opportunities almost too numerous to mention.
