Leadership Day 2026 Registration, Hotel and Planning Webinar
Leadership Day, ACP’s annual flagship advocacy event, will take place this year in Washington, DC on May 12th - 13th. This event provides ACP members the opportunity to advocate directly with Congress in support of legislation impacting internal medicine physicians and their patients, and we hope you can join us in DC for another successful event this year.
A room block is available for Leadership Day attendees at the conference hotel, the Westin Washington DC Downtown Hotel (999 9th St NW). You can book a reservation online at the discounted rate of $399 per night online at American College of Physicians Leadership Day. If calling for a reservation, please ask for “American College of Physicians’ Leadership Day” event. The deadline to make hotel reservations is Monday, April 20. If you are unable to acquire a room in our block, please contact Shuan Tomlinson at stomlinson@acponline.org for a list of alternative hotels.
Registration is also open for the upcoming webinar Planning Your Chapter’s Involvement in Leadership Day 2026 on Tuesday, January 13. The webinar will provide an overview of the Leadership Day process, key dates to keep in mind, and what your chapter will need to do to prepare for the event. ACP staff and representatives of our scheduling service for Congressional meetings will be available to answer any questions. Chapter governors, staff, and other chapter leaders who may serve as their chapter’s delegation leader at Leadership Day are encouraged to attend or watch the recording.

ACP's 2026 Advocacy Priorities Now Available
ACP has published its 2026 advocacy priorities, which guide the College’s efforts to promote policy reforms at the federal level through legislative, regulatory, and executive actions to benefit patients, physicians, and the practice of medicine. After a comprehensive assessment conducted by ACP staff in consultation with College leaders, four top policy priorities have been identified for 2026: protecting patient access to immunizations, ensuring patient affordability and access to health care, strengthening the internal medicine physician workforce, and improving payment for internal medicine physicians. While ACP will continue its work across a wide range of other issues, these topics reflect ACP’s assessment of where the College believes there is the most opportunity this year to lead advocacy efforts on behalf of our members and their patients. Urge Congress to Reauthorize and Extend ACA Premium Tax Credits
With the tax credits that make ACA marketplace insurance plans more affordable now having expired at the end of 2025, 19 million Americans will face major increases in health insurance costs and as many as 4 million people could lose coverage altogether unless Congress acts. Please write to your members of Congress using ACP’s action alert and share the alert with your chapter and colleagues to help increase our collective impact. Members of Congress need to hear from physicians on the importance of reauthorizing and extending these insurance premium tax credits.
