Sometimes everything

has to be

inscribed across

the heavens

so you can find

the one line

already written

inside you.

Sometimes it takes

a great sky

to find that

first, bright

and indescribable

wedge of freedom

in your own heart.

Sometimes with

the bones of the black

sticks left when the fire

has gone out

someone has written

something new

in the ashes of your life.

You are not leaving.

Even as the light fades quickly now,

you are arriving.

Oregon Chapter Wins John Tooker Evergreen Award

We are delighted to share that the Oregon Chapter has received a John Tooker Evergreen Award in recognition of its innovative program, “A New Generation of Poster Competitions.”

The John Tooker Evergreen Awards Program provides visibility and recognition to chapters that demonstrate excellence in strengthening membership, improving communication, increasing member involvement, enhancing diversity, fostering careers in internal medicine, and improving chapter management. The Oregon Chapter’s winning nomination reflects a strong commitment to engaging members and supporting the next generation of physicians through creative and inclusive programming.

Congratulations to everyone whose dedication and hard work contributed to this well‑deserved recognition.

New Oregon MACPs

Congratulations to our new Oregon Masters of the American College of Physicians (MACPs). The MACP distinction is one of the College’s highest honors, recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to internal medicine through leadership, mentorship, scholarship, and service to the profession.

The 2026 Poster Competition will rejoin the meeting on Thursday afternoon!

We will offer opportunities for interaction and social connection, including Trivia (hosted by Lenny Mankin), Meet Your Oregon ACP Committees, and Breakfast Interest Groups.
