ACTION ALERT

Take Action:

Protect Medicaid Services for Children with Disabilities

We need your help now!

On Tuesday, February 3rd, from 5-8 PM, the Joint Committee on Ways and Means will be holding a public hearing on agencies proposed budget reduction options. We encourage you to sign up to testify and tell legislators to keep services in place for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Oregon lawmakers are considering Oregon Department of Human Services proposals to reduce Medicaid Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) for children with I/DD.

These cuts could take away important supports for many children.

What is at risk?

The Oregon Department of Human Services proposed:

  • Ending the Parental Income Disregard
  • Removing LTSS eligibility for children diagnosed with Autism “Level 1”

Why this matters

These services help children and families with:

  • Personal care and support workers
  • Help at home
  • Medical supplies and special equipment

If these cuts happen, many children could lose the support they need to stay healthy and independent.

What you can do

Please contact your legislators and members of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Services and ask them to:

  • Keep the Parental Income Disregard
  • Protect LTSS for children with Autism “Level 1”
