Organic Policy in Florida

A theme we heard again and again at National Organic Week in Washington, D.C. was the call for strengthening organic policy at the state level.

We’re currently assessing existing state ag policy and looking to successful models outside of Florida for inspiration.

We’re looking for input from your experiences too! Have you ever encountered any policy hurdles? Do you have ideas for organic policy to share?

We’d love to hear them!  Email us at

Agricultural Justice Project
Narrative from a Food Justice Certified Farm: Farmer Jordan Brown, Gainesville

Some years ago I heard about this certification and looked into it and saw what it stood for. I felt like it would be a good fit for our farm and would be a good way to let people know that our farm is trying to do things a little different than other farms in regards to the workers. Different than what I have seen on other farms.

Having more farms participate in Food Justice Certification will help grow a greater awareness of the labor practices and unfair working conditions in the agriculture sector across America.
