Election initiative organizers begin signature drive

Initiative campaigns must collect at least 62,895 total valid signatures and qualify in 18 legislative districts to place a proposition on the November 2024 general election ballot.

At least $11.2 million tab expected this fire season

Idaho Department of Lands Director Dustin Miller offered a fire season update to the state Land Board earlier this week, including the anticipated cost of wildfires. This year's cost forecast is significantly lower than the $51.8 million price tag in 2021.

Appeals court keeps transgender athlete law on pause

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will continue to block Idaho’s “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” from taking effect while litigation over the merits continues. The state law bans transgender women and girls from competing on female student athletic teams.
