August 5, 2019

Dear SJ Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year! I hope this letter finds your family enjoying the beautiful remaining days of summer.

Several new and exciting things have taken place since school closed in June. We are quickly getting ready to greet our returning students and preparing a warm welcome to the Class of 2023! Orientation week will be a busy one, please see below for more information to help you prepare.

Below you will also find a link to our official school calendar. Please note, our “Back to School Night" is scheduled for September 12 th at 6:30pm. Our teachers look forward to meeting you and giving you an overview of the year ahead.

The start of a new school year brings with it a great deal of excitement and, sometimes, just a little bit of anxiety. Know that if you need us, the capable and attentive SJHS staff and I are just a phone call away. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.

May God bless your families and keep you safe and healthy. We are looking forward to a great school year ahead.

See you soon.

School Hours (7:55am-2:15pm)
We will begin each school day at 7:55am and dismiss at 2:15pm. We will follow the same class rotation schedule as last year with “X” as a fixed period. Daily class rotations will be available on Plus Portals.

All St Joseph High School buses and Trumbull bus service will begin on August 29, 2019. For questions about bus transportation, please contact Ms Angela DeStefano at or ext 300.

Drop-off and pick-up zones are established behind the gym to ease traffic flow. Please use the two side lanes for drop-off and the middle lane to travel. The drop-off/pick-up zone is available from 7:00-7:55am, 1:30-2:30pm and 11:30-12:30pm on early dismissal days. Parents can help alleviate traffic congestion at the end of the day by picking up students 15-20 minutes after dismissal. The faculty parking lot and the front circle driveway may not be used for drop-off or pick-up .

Parents and new students will receive an email with an activation link to PlusPortals. PlusPortal grade reporting will allow parents to see current grades, missing assignments, progress reports, and report cards. If you prefer to receive paper copies of letters and report cards, please call the Main Office.
Emergency Communication
We use a phone messaging service that enables us to communicate with families about emergency situations and important school events. If your contact information changes throughout the year, please call the Main Office to update your information.
