Master of Ceremonies
Wayne Coy. Tune in KKDV radio 99.1 FM mornings at 5 to 9 am and you'll enjoy Wayne as he plays the best music variety and talks about all sorts of local issues right here in the Diablo Valley! Before his life in radio, Wayne was a stand-up comedian, the first, in fact, to ever play at Tommy T's club in San Leandro. Wayne offers these quips about himself. I could have been Eddie on the old TV show "Courtship of Eddie's Father", did a TV commercial with O.J. Simpson before he was a murderer and went to elementary school with MC Hammer and D'Wayne Wiggins from Tony Toni Tone.

The Comedians
Kabir "Kabeezy" Singh is one of the fastest rising Stand-Up Comedians in the USA headlining nights at some of the most famous clubs in California including the Hollywood Improv, Hollywood Laugh Factory, Long Beach Laugh Factory, SF Punchline, SF Cobbs, and selling out many other clubs all over America. Kabir has also opened and shared the stage with some of the biggest Stand-Up Comedians in the world including Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, Bill Burr, Russell Peters and has also been seen touring on the "BFF" Tour with Jo Koy and Anjelah Johnson.
Kabir's highly anticipated tour all through Europe and India kicked off in September, 2012 and included seven sold out shows in the U.K. including Glasgow, Birmingham and six shows in Bombay, India.
Kabir has been called "The Next Big Indian Comedian" by India West, and has been called "One of the must see Stand-Up Comedians in the U.S." by T
V Asia. Kabir's energy, in-your-face attitude mixed with clever material and the love to please and crowd anywhere has grown him a monster fan base in a few short years, and is a must see any chance you get. We are so pleased to welcome Kabeezy back to Orinda!

 Kirk McHenry Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Kirk has had a variety of experiences. Life in the inner city, prep school in the suburbs, college life in the south and even a successful four-year stint in the United States Marine Corps. He blends all of his life experiences together into a storytelling brand of comedy that has been described by some as Bill Cosby with a Richard Pryor twist. Having already opened for such stars as Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Tommy Davidson and Don "D.C." Curry, Kirk has been labeled one of the Bay Areas fastest rising young stars by his peers. He even gained recognition as one of the top 10 comics in the Bay Area by Karma 777 Film works & Productions. In addition to Kirk's comical talent, he is also a freelance writer and voice impressionist. He was nominated for Outstanding Voice Performance by the National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers Corporation (N.A.V.G.T.R) for doing the voice of "Toe Jam" in the SEGA game Toe Jam & Earl III: Mission to Earth. |
 Ellis Rodriguez Originally Born in Boston, Ellis Rodriguez is by far the funniest of nine children raised by loving immigrant parents from Panama. Living in a multi-racial, uni-cultural family gave him a unique perspective on life. He grew up speaking Spanish at home, English at church, and Ebonics in school.
Ellis Rodriguez spent his early twenties serving in the United States Marine Corps, but found his calling when he picked up a mic, and did what he'd been doing his whole life, entertaining anyone who would listen. And now countless are listening, and laughing. His commanding presence, charming personality and hilarious material make him one of the best up and coming comics today.
Ellis Rodriguez's passion for stand up comedy is evident whenever he performs, he is a favorite at comedy clubs across the West Coast including the Improv, Laugh's Unlimited, Tommy T's, PepperBelly's, and the Laugh Factory. This Latino former Marine is smart and charismatic, and always full of surprises. An energetic performer, his comedy is appealing to any comedy audience.

 Shea Suga
From early in her childhood, Shea has always been one to put a smile on your face and a tickle in your tummy. Shea learned early how to cope with challenges and obstacles by sharing her stories with others with a comedy spin on it.
If you have never seen ... Shea Suga's act, then you have been missing out on some big belly laughs. Shea developed a great passion for being on stage as she watch other comedians perform live, and comedy sitcoms on TV. Watching the Queens of Comedy truly inspired Shea to dream her way into the industry.
Her friends, family, and even strangers, have always encouraged and pushed her to do her comedy. Shea's first featured gig was for Headliner Lunell in May of 2005. Since then, she's been incredibly successful in the Bay Area, blessed with a huge following and fan base. In a very short time Shea has developed a huge following of dedicated and devoted fans. Cody Woods
Cody Woods is one of the most hilarious and talented comedians rising today. While growing up idolizing comedians as a child he discovered he had a natural way of making everyone laugh early on. At the age of thirteen he was recommended to the local comedy club by a teacher despite being sent to detention by that teacher the same day. With his unique versatility on stage, audiences are treated to a rare blend of extreme honesty, off the cuff wit, social commentary, animation with spot on impressions all while maintaining a laid back narrative. Now a young yet seasoned comic, Cody can be seen featuring and headlining comedy clubs all over California. He has regularly worked with big names such as Tommy Davidson, Damon Wayans, Steve O., Robin Williams, Bobby Slayton, Bruce Bruce, Cocoa Brown, Wllie Barcena, Lynn Koplitz, Tom Segura, Will Durst, Tom Rhodes, Tom Papa, Todd Glass, David Spade, Kevin Farley and many more. At his beginning stages he was already a two time finalist in the Northern California Comedy Competition held at the world famous Improv Comedy Club at the age of eighteen and nineteen. He was featured on Roger Ebert's blog shortly after as well as online streaming giant, Hulu.com.

Cash bars will be presented by the Rotary and the Lamorinda Winegrowers. The Trivia Bee will start a 7 sharp - A friendly competition with teams made up of friends, families, community groups, and businesses. The winning team will have a prize to donate to the non-profit of their choice and bragging rights till next year's competition.

Career Night Panelists needed for the 56th Annual Orinda Rotary Career Night at Miramonte High School to be held Monday, March 17 from 6pm - 8:30pm.
We are in the beginning stages of planning for the 2014 Orinda Rotary Career Night. Each year we have ten different career panels consisting of a moderator and three panelists representing a variety of career clusters. Parents, Miramonte alumni who have completed college and have at least 2 years working in their chosen field and community members are encouraged to contact Eloise Schneider, College & Career Advisor at [email protected] if they are available to participate that evening and/or to be considered for next year's event. We try to diversify the panels each year with new panelists as many students attend the same panel more than once in their four years at Miramonte.
Potential panels include: Global Business, Technology, Engineering, Law & Politics, Health Care, Social Media & Communications, Military & Public Service, Psychology, Green Jobs, Science Professions and Entrepreneurship.
