Principal's Message

Dear Middle School Families,

We are excited to welcome caregivers into our building on Friday, March 15 in order to conference with individual teachers of your students.  Teachers will be available in their classrooms between 9am and 10:45am and then again between 11:45am and 4:00pm.  These conferences will be drop-in format so you do not need an appointment and conferences will occur on a first come, first serve basis.  Please limit your conference to five minutes, especially if there are others waiting to conference with the teacher.  If you feel that you need more than five minutes, please contact the teacher to arrange for a longer conference time.  We will have building maps and room locations available when you enter the building.  Student schedules and teachers are available in PowerSchool.

Per usual, on our Family Engagement Days, we will have staff available in the LMC to assist with access to PowerSchool and Schoology.

Friday, March 15 will also be an asynchronous learning day for students.  Please see the expectations for asynchronous learning days in a section below.

Thank you for your continued support of your student here at SLPMS!

In partnership,

Middle School FAQs

Dear MS Caregivers,

If you are new(ish) to the Middle School or have general questions, please be aware that we have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on the MS website.  Click here to access this informational page. Please give us a call, too, if you have questions that are beyond the scope of this page. Thank you!

Greetings,

The 8th grade students this week presented to 6th and 7th students the results of their Community Projects. The Community Project is a capstone project for our 8th grade students where they focus on a passion area of theirs and connect it to a community of their choice. As our students continue to develop their identities in our Keyston/Design 8 class they use that learning to develop their projects in class, with an assigned supervisor during advisory, and beyond.

Here are a few pictures of presentations that took place in the Middle School Performing Arts Center. Mr. Wolfe was the supervisor for these groups.

A big thank you to Community Project coordinator, Evelyn Lashley, for all her coordination on this!
