Johnnie, Orion graduate.
Johnnie proved to himself that he was capable of hard work again.
JOHNNIE
Johnnie, recovering from a surgery, had lost confidence in his physical ability to perform each day in a full-time position. His time at Orion allowed him to increase his stamina and rebuild his fortitude. Johnnie said, “I know I have determination; Orion let me show that while I gradually got myself back into shape after I had surgery.”

Jennifer, Orion job seeker.
JENNIFER
Jennifer came to Orion needing to make a career change.
After spending 20 years in an office environment Jennifer needed to make a career change, but didn't know how to get started. I wasn’t sure about a career change,” Jennifer explained. “At this point a career change wasn’t something that I thought I could do."

Jennifer toured Orion’s paid Manufacturing Training Program and signed up on the spot!

Orion’s training programs offer on-the-job training in several production areas, giving the program participants the opportunity to learn skills that cover a wide range of manufacturing jobs. Program participants work one-on-one with a trained mentor in each area, improving their soft skills while also learning valuable technical skills.

“I have surprised myself!” Jennifer exclaimed. “I have learned to branch out. I have realized that I can do things outside of my original boundaries.”

MENTOR PROFILE
Orion Helps People Become Independent
Katie Ingison is a mentor in Orion's manufacturing training program. Mentors understand that each person learns differently. Depending on if a participant prefers hands-on training, visual learning, written directions or verbal instruction, mentors adjust their teaching style to what works best. The one-on-one training provided by Katie and mentors like her makes the Orion mission possible. Katie is proud that she is able to help people find success.
As a mentor it is amazing to see people reach their goal. Gradually a participant will become more independent as their confidence grows. It is gratifying to see them realize that they can work on their own without me with them every step. It’s just a great feeling!”
