A Message From the Director
Dear Osher Members,

The Osher Institute at Boise State University is one of the most distinguished lifelong learning programs in the country for adults age 50 and over. The Osher Excellence Fund was established to support first-class programs and presenters all year long.

Your continued support ensures excellent programming for the future! Your donation can honor or memorialize a loved one. A donation to the Osher Excellence Fund may be made through this link and qualifies for the Idaho education tax credit. Thank you for your generous giving!

Please join me at our next Casual Coffee Hour for treats and good conversation on Wednesday, September 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 510 of the Yanke building. This is a great way to meet other Osher members and find out what's going on at the Osher Institute. A reminder will be emailed to members the day before and will be posted on our Osher Facebook page.

I hope you're enjoying all the semester has to offer so far. Please contact me with any suggestions or questions you may have. I'm looking forward to seeing you!

Dana Thorp Patterson, Director
University Health Guidelines Update
We want to keep you updated on the latest guidance regarding COVID-19 protocols on the Boise State University Campus. Here is the University's most recent statement:

"Facial coverings must be worn in indoor public spaces owned or controlled by Boise State University, as well as in crowded outdoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status. As indicated in the University's policy on communicable diseases, compliant facial coverings must be clean, reusable, or single-use disposable coverings that cover the nose and mouth, are closed at the bottom, and do not allow respiratory droplets to escape through vents or other means."

Your compliance with this mandate supports continued in-person classes. By working together, we can help ensure a safe and healthy experience in the classroom for all Osher members. Thank you for your consideration of others!

Thank You, Volunteers!
The Idaho Shakespeare Festival gave its first performance of The Tempest on the night of Thursday, August 12. An intrepid group of Osher volunteers braved the almost-100-degree heat to help with audience ushering and grounds cleanup.

A huge thank you goes to the following volunteers and Osher staff members:

Cindy and Rob Anson, Annette Dillard,
Bae Emilson, RoseMarie Frost, Janet Matthews, John Roehrkasse,
Margaret Thomas, Carolyn Wolfe, Dana Thorp Patterson and Jeremy Trent.

We also would like to thank our greeters and check-in table attendees for our August programs: Jackie Agenbroad, Pam Brewer, Marge Butterfield, Carol Delaney, Cindy Eubank, Dennis Hall, and Vicki Morrison.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.
