RESPITE & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES UPDATE!
A Fond Farewell to Kate and Best Wishes for Your Future

Three years ago, Osprey Village and the Lowcountry alike were introduced to Kate Register. One of the first things she told us was, “I’m not perfect, I’ll need training, but I really do care.” We hired her almost immediately.

So, for three years, Kate served us and our community as the Team Lead of our Respite Program. Throughout her tenure, she proved to us that she really did care. Inspiring all of us every day to work a bit harder and care a bit more, Kate became a part of our lives. She cried with us in our pain. She laughed with us in our joy. And she kicked our butts when we needed it. Kate did the very thing we at Osprey Village strive for every day — she cared.
She helped people find jobs. She helped people move into new homes. She taught people how to do their laundry. She spoke to people about the discrimination of persons with disabilities. We know that, without Kate in our lives over these three years, we wouldn’t be the same.
So, naturally, when she told us she was relocating to be with her fiancé, our first reaction was “NO!” But, we came to our senses. We realized it was now our turn to care about Kate.
It is with great sadness for us and joy for her that we announce Kate’s departure. Kate, we love you. We know that wherever you go and whatever you do, it will be with the same care and dedication you brought to Osprey Village. We know that others will learn from you, just as we did. And we know your fiancé is one lucky guy.
Thank you, Kate, for what you brought to Osprey Village, the families we serve, and our community. Thank you for nearly always going beyond the call of duty.
We wish you and your family the very best and we look forward to seeing you again.
