FALL LEAVES-2
Ossining Food Pantry Fall 2019 Update
As we head into the beginning of the holiday season, it is fitting that we take a moment to acknowledge the terrific work of our volunteers. In rain, snow or shine these wonderful volunteers donate their time each week so that food may be distributed to those in need. Equally important to fulfilling our mission are our loyal donors whose generous financial donations enable us to pay for the food we distribute. Additionally, many individuals and local community organizations regularly collect non-perishable food items on our behalf. We thank you for your ongoing support and hope you will find the Fall 2019 newsletter of interest. Please forward this email to anyone who might like to learn more about our efforts to help feed the needy in the greater Ossining area.
Thank You Donors!
In September, we mailed our "Fall Appeal" requesting donations from the community. We are very thankful to the individuals and community organizations who generously responded with donations. Virtually all of the donated funds are used to purchase food either from ShopRite or from Feeding Westchester. THANK YOU for your generosity. It is because of people like you that we are able to continue to serve the community.
Project Isaiah Food Drive - CSI
As a part of the Project Isaiah food drive, members of the Congregation Sons of Israel (CSI) collected non-perishable food items and donations during September/October. Thank you to CSI members for your continued support of the Food Pantry's efforts.

SEWA USA Food Drive
SEWA International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organization. Sewa is Hindi for " selfless service. " Members of the Westchester chapter held a food drive to benefit the Ossining Food Pantry. Student volunteers from Anne M. Dorner Middle School, Ossining High School and Edgemont High School worked with adults to collect non-perishable food items. We thank Parag Kulkarni who led the project and the many young people who helped with this effort.

How You Can Help
Financial Donations
The majority of financial donations are used for the purchase of food. You may be assured that the Food Pantry's Purchasing team works to deliver maximum value from each dollar spent with Feeding Westchester and ShopRite.

Organize a Food Drive
Work with your neighborhood, school or community organization to organize a food drive for non-perishable, non-expired food items.

Volunteer
Try us, you'll like us! There are a variety of roles at the Food Pantry. Maybe one of them is right for you!

If you would like to become involved with the Ossining Food Pantry, please call the Food Pantry office at 914-762-5510. A volunteer will return the call and explain our non-perishable food needs as well as volunteer opportunities
