Dear Friends of the Ossining Food Pantry:
We sincerely hope this message finds you and your families well and coping with the current situation.
We find ourselves in the midst of very uncertain times
.
Well before this latest challenge, many people were already choosing between nutritious food for their family and paying rent. Over the last 6 months, the Ossining Food Pantry has seen a noticeable increase in the number of clients served. As supporters of the Ossining Food Pantry, we want to inform you of our ongoing efforts to support our neighbors in need.
Ossining Food Pantry Support
Starting in March, we shifted our client support from food distribution to providing
C-Town gift cards. This approach requires no client/volunteer interactions thereby protecting all involved. It allows the clients to purchase foods they need and want at times that are convenient for them.
In addition to providing C-Town gift cards, we are advising callers of the local food distributions available from Feeding Westchester's mobile food trucks as well as the ‘Grab and Go’ breakfasts and lunches available in schools for students. We are also referring callers to
www.FeedingWestchester.org
.
Volunteers
It is gratifying to report that we have received a number of calls and emails from people wishing to volunteer. For the foreseeable future, we will be directing potential volunteers to
www.FeedingWestchester.org
.
A Community Pulling Together
The gift cards represent a significant financial commitment by the Ossining Food Pantry to help feed over 400 client households. Thanks to people like you, we are able to offer support during this difficult time.
If you are able to donate in order to help us continue the gift card program, please do so below. We thank you for your ongoing support.
