Beautiful people. There is much we are feeling, and we are doing our best to extend what we have, physically and compassionately, in these times. I trust and know that many reading this are doing the same. At this moment, and knowing how full your inboxes are with critical and "staying connected" information, we won't take up too much of your time and space. What we do want to offer is a reminder of the many resources we have developed over the years to support resilient lives and communities, especially regarding good, healing food for all. So here you go, gathered from various spots on our website. Below this section, there is a link to a piece I wrote called Parenting in a Pandemic as well as some ways in which we are personally promoting family health and wellbeing in addition to following important protocols for the collective good.
Hearts open, caring on high!
Deb Habib, for all at Seeds of Solidarity

And of course, we'd be honored if you choose to curl up with, or send a gift of our book,  Making Love While Farming: A Field Guide to a Life of Passion and Purpose available through worker-owned  Levellers Press.
We are happy to share some ways in which we are promoting our family health in these times in addition to social distancing, extensive hand washing, working remotely, exercising, and meanwhile, trying to grow as much food as possible on our farm to nourish community! None of these suggestions are to be taken as medical advice, or replace any COVID-19 protocols for personal safety and public wellbeing.

First, here is a piece with ideas to promote joy and resilience in children called  Parenting in a Pandemic written by Seeds of Solidarity co-founder Deb Habib, Ed.D.
Yes, you have permission to share it with others as widely as you wish, so long as in full and with the bio/citation at the end. We'd love to hear what you think and where you shared it!

As mentioned above, in addition to the recommended precautions, we've amped up many of the things we already do for health and immune support like...
Brewing a daily pot of elderberry tea to sip, add to warm water or teas
Making teas with herbs like nettles and oatstraw to support the adrenal system, with lavender for calming and floral vibes.
Reducing intake of sugar
Adding seaweed, shiitake mushrooms, and miso to all soups
Increasing vitamin C, D and Zinc (be sure you can combine with medications).Taking a daily pro-biotic and eating probiotic foods like facto-fermented sauerkraut and Kombucha (that we make), quality yogurt and miso.
Tinctures (made from our own garlic and the roots of echinacea whose flowers feed pollinators!)
Reading aloud positive quotes or poems before dinner
And a new favorite, putting a few drops of a high quality essential oil that has some anti-bacterial qualities like tea tree, oregano, or lemon in a bit of coconut or massage oil, and rubbing ones own (or your child or partner's) lung and heart area to soothe, and radiate inward.
