CARPLS focuses on serving as many people as possible, while maintaining a great level of care and service from a dedicated, experienced staff. When a client calls, a lawyer answers.

Honor Our Veterans On July 4th

The IL-AFLAN Hotline is here to help veterans, service members, and their families with a wide range of legal issues.

On several occasions, a CARPLS IL-AFLAN attorney helped Bethany with her family law matter when she had nowhere else to turn. Bethany said: "Like the other three experiences I have had, she proved no different. The CARPLS attorney was able to help me understand the court process, as well as help me organize my thoughts to write them out. This will help me as I communicate what it is I want without going into a 30-minute story. I was able to focus and have it ready for when I meet the judge. Thank you so much!"

Honoring the late Wally Greenough:

Longtime CARPLS Volunteer

CARPLS volunteer Walter Greenough passed away on June 3, 2020. Wally was a Senior Partner with Schiff Hardin and became a CARPLS volunteer twice a week starting in February 2019.

“Wally loved his work with CARPLS,” said Pete Rossiter, a Schiff Hardin partner and CARPLS volunteer. “He had a special knack for connecting with clients in a way that made his advice easier to accept and act upon.”

In one instance, Wally helped a CARPLS client with her Section 8 moving papers as she was looking for safe, subsidized housing. Our clients greatly appreciated his thoughtful legal counsel and sense of humor.

“Wally put a smile on everyone’s face when he was here,” Leslie Wallin, CARPLS Supervising Attorney and Volunteer Coordinator, said.
