Community Screenings: America to Me
WE'RE HOSTING two upcoming screenings of the documentary series America to Me by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Steve James. Set in one of Chicago's most racially diverse public schools, America to Me examines the roles that race and class play in American education. 

Join us tomorrow, August 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Forsyth Central Library as we watch Episode 5 in collaboration with the Black Philanthropy Initiative . Light refreshments will be provided at 5:30 p.m. with the screening starting promptly at 6:00 p.m. A facilitated discussion will follow the film.

Bookmarks Festival of Books & Authors
Nonprofit Networking Social on September 9
WE'RE PLEASED to support the 15th annual Bookmarks Festival of Authors & Books as it invites our community to explore, engage, and imagine through the art of reading and writing.

This year's festival is September 5-8 and features 50 authors, panel discussions, booksignings, and storytimes. Learn more .
STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS of Forsyth County nonprofits are invited to join us for a Nonprofit Networking Social on Monday, September 9 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Black Philanthropy Initiative
Did you know that August is Black Philanthropy Month ? BPI kicked off the month as a sponsor of the 16th biennial National Black Theatre Festival, celebrating the extraordinary talent of black theatre. Stay engaged with BPI on Facebook and Twitter to learn how you can celebrate and support Black Philanthropy Month.
The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem
Save the date The Women’s Fund's 14th annual luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 13 where 2019 grant recipients will also be announced. This year’s theme is  Victory in Unity stay tuned for registration information!
Youth Grantmakers in Action
YGA welcomed a new team of 24 youth grantmakers this month, kicking off with an early August team-building retreat at our offices. Over the school year, the group will learn more about philanthropy and direct a grantmaking program to fund youth-led projects in Forsyth County.
