Measuring Success Amid COVID-19
Dear Friends,

Our summer program is just 10 weeks away and we can't wait to welcome our scholars back to campus! As we look forward to this summer, we continue to reflect on the successes and lessons of 2020.

Despite a year of unprecedented challenges, we were able to implement a virtual program that enabled our scholars to continue progressing in their learning. We were also able to maintain student engagement online and keep our relationships with our families and community intact. We are so proud of our scholars who showed such perseverance throughout this difficult year!

Check out our 2020 Impact Report to learn more about last year's highlights and how we will build on these successes this coming summer in the face of learning loss caused by COVID-19.

We are grateful for your ongoing support in helping this learning community to thrive!

In partnership,
Malia Neal

Save the Date: Horizons Giving Day
On Wednesday, May 5th, we will kick off our annual fundraising campaign, Horizons Giving Day! This year we are honoring our dynamic Board Chair, Leah Kimmet! Leah has been an invaluable support to and champion of HGSFS since its founding in 2016, and has aided the expansion of Horizons across Philadelphia.

Join us in celebrating Leah's passion for Horizons by contributing to the fundraiser and attending our virtual trivia night.

Will you help us reach our goal of $20,000 this year? All proceeds raised cover operational expenses--like classroom supplies and meals--that allow us to deliver on our mission to prevent learning loss for students in our community through a a robust summer enrichment experience.

If you're interested in joining our mighty force of volunteers, reach out to Malia at mneal@greenestreetfriends.org.
