2024 HOLIDAY E-NEWSLETTER

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Happy Holidays from Everyone at Vocational Visions!

As the end of the year approaches, I would like to wish everyone very happy holidays! At Vocational Visions, our staff and the people we serve come from diverse backgrounds, with a wide variety of religious, cultural, and family traditions. Working here has given me the priceless opportunity to see how these cultures and traditions blend into a holiday season that we all celebrate together.

This diversity is also reflected in the services we provide every day. Each of our staff brings a unique perspective to the support they provide, and the people we serve each have their own support needs and vocational goals. The chance to learn more about the abilities, needs, and aspirations of a diverse group of people, and to discover how best to serve each individual to improve their lives, is really why we are here. You are part of what we do, and your support makes such a difference for everyone in our programs.

In the coming year, I look forward to sharing more about the exciting things happening at Vocational Visions, from our garden rehabilitation project, to our on-going facility enhancements, to (most importantly), our focus on innovative programs which will create opportunities for those we support to grow, learn, develop skills, and participate in their community. I hope that this holiday season allows you the opportunity to spend time with those you love and care for, to learn more about them, to share traditions, and to create new memories together.

Sincerely,

EMAIL TIM

DTAC Pala

DTAC Pala has been thinking of ways to “make-over” our garden area since last December. But as the year got away from us, and leaves and dirt began to collect, we began to wonder if we would be able to create an outdoor space for our participants that we could be proud of.

Then, Hope Mission Viejo Church reached out with an offer to redo the garden for us. Overnight, our garden was leveled out and woodchips were placed over the dirt, reminding us how beautiful this space could actually be. Fast forward and we now have three newly donated park benches in the process of being built, sanded and painted. We’ve already got participants tending to the garden and helping paint the tables. They’re as excited as we are.

The dream for this space was to allow our persons served the opportunity to have an outdoor space that they could claim as their own, for reading, art, and any other kind of recreation.

They are entitled to multiple spaces where they can safely and comfortably explore and recharge and it is no small thing being able to expand in this way.

As you plan your end-of-year gift giving, we thank you for considering a gift to Vocational Visions during this season.  Be looking for our "End-of-Year" campaign letter and/or email in the next few days! Or you can always donate online at www.vocationalvisions.org.

On behalf of all of the persons served and staff at Vocational Visions, we wish you a holiday season of joy, celebration and happy memories with friends and loved ones. Thank you so much for your support!
