Our 20th Anniversary of Marriage Journey

Greetings Ministry Partners,

We have observed that marriage issues are becoming increasingly complex among Christians. Amidst the storms of modern ideologies such as cohabitation, infidelity, sham marriages for immigration purposes, interfaith marriages, divorce, domestic violence, and more, Christian family traditions are truly being shaken. Six years ago, I finished my M.A. thesis on the topic “The Teaching of Paul on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage in Vietnamese’s context”. This thesis has become the foundation for my teachings on marriage, and I am currently expanding my research with a study titled “Till Death Do Us Part: A Comparative Study of Vietnamese and Christians’ Views on Permanent Marriage.”

First and foremost, these studies have strengthened my own marriage. My recent discoveries about Vietnamese marriage culture have enriched my teachings on marriage. Particularly, Vietnamese marriage culture has traditionally upheld monogamy, valuing fidelity and chastity, and rejecting same-sex marriages. Polygamy only emerged due to the later influence of Confucianism in Vietnam. These insights help reinforce a marriage foundation that aligns with the Bible.

Marriage and family seminars are being promoted and taught to many couples in various places. This year, as we celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, I would like to thank God over the past two decades, we have witnessed countless blessings that have reinforced our belief in God's protective hand over our marriage. Your prayers and givings have greatly strengthened our family, allowing us to enjoy God’s blessings and serve Him better.

May God bless your families, health, and work.

New Classes & Graduations

On May 27, 2024, two CCI classes graduated. Theses 2 classes organized a graduation ceremony at a local church with 16 graduates.

In addition, we had previously launched a new class for a new denomination in the nearby province with 32 new students enrolled. We pray for the graduates to be effective in their ministry and for the new students to be diligent in their studies to equip themselves for effective ministry.

Testimonies

Area Coordinator Testimony

"Teacher Development Training is essential. As teachers, we must constantly develop ourselves every day in teaching methods and skills to convey God's Word to everyone, making what we communicate more concise and understandable. To achieve this, we also always need additional training courses that focus on biblical studies, theology, and ministry. These subjects will help us gain more knowledge and skills in managing families, as well as organizing and managing personnel in the church and in the classroom.

We are looking forward to being trained in more advanced courses for teachers to improve our ministry of teaching more effectively and efficiently."

Student Testimony

"After finishing the 4 courses that CCI has trained me in, I enjoyed every subject. It helps me love God’s Word more, I am more curious, and hunger more for the Word. Perhaps the most fundamental thing I have learned is that when you understand God's Word, you will enjoy reading it. Conversely, when you read God's Word, you will also understand it better."

Marriage and Family Seminar Testimony

"I would like to praise the Lord and thank CCI Vietnam for making my dream become possible. To be equipped by a marriage and family seminar for couples is a blessing to me and my wife. This is our first time to be trained together in this course. This course helps me understand the silent sacrifices a wife makes for her husband. It helps me cherish marriage and family, the people God has given me. My wife also recognizes the value of serving, standing by her husband to care for and teach our children. As a father, I see the responsibility to teach my children about spiritual life, to pray for them and teach them to pray, and to understand the importance of teaching the Bible to them. Our family recognizes the value of time spent studying the Bible and praying for one another. The course is truly beneficial for marital relationships and strengthening the Christian family."
