Tea Party Fundraiser

Tickets on sale now!

Saturday, May 3, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Marlboro Library will be holding their seventh annual Tea Party Fundraiser at the brand-new Marlborough Community Center, on Saturday, May 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the charms of a bygone era and join us for tea, light refreshments, music, raffles and conversation. A ticket to this event makes a wonderful Mother’s Day gift! Proceeds will go towards future Library initiatives.


Tickets for the tea are $25 dollars each and are available for purchase at the circulation desk. Fancy hats are encouraged!

Meet with a Digital Navigator at the Library!

The Marlboro Free Library is a participant in the Digital Navigators of the Hudson Valley program, an initiative dedicated to offering free technology assistance to residents in the region.


With a staff member now trained as a Digital Navigator, individuals of all ages can receive tailored assistance with their devices, ensuring everyone can confidently access and utilize technology. This program is supported by the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council, Mid-Hudson Library System, Ramapo-Catskill Library System, and Westchester Library System.


Our Digital Navigator can help you learn how to:


  • Use a smartphone, tablet, and other devices
  • Understand security and how to protect your privacy online
  • Browse the internet and set up an email account
  • Fill out online forms
  • Make video calls to family and friends
  • And more!


Appointments are required.

To meet with a Digital Navigator, please call the Library at 845-236-7272 ext. 220 to set up an appointment.

Shredder Truck Event

Friday, April 4, 9:30-11:00 a.m. sharp!

Bring your old documents down to the Library and have them put in the shredder truck to be destroyed safely in seconds. This event is first-come, first-served, with a three bag/box limit per person. The shredder truck will be parked in the Library side parking lot.



Please do not arrive early to allow us to safely set up and allow for the shredder truck to get positioned in our parking lot!

Acceptable Items for Shredding:

Paper (white or colored), file folders, plastic ID cards, credit cards, old checkbooks, and carbon paper.


UNACCEPTABLE Items for Shredding:

Hazardous material, prescription bottles, syringes or needles, or any heavy metal objects such as nuts, bolts, metal plates, or hard drives. THESE ITEMS CAN CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK OR OPERATOR.

MFL Hook & Needle

Knitting & Crocheting Group

Due to feedback, beginning on April 14, MFL Hook & Needle will return to our evening schedule.


Join us on select Mondays, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., where knitting and crocheting enthusiasts can come together, socialize, share tips, and work on projects together.



Please check our calendar as we will also be running MFL Hook & Needle during the daytime, as scheduling permits!

Keep in mind that while this meetup will provide a supportive space for knitting and crocheting, it will be self-led, and guided instructions and supplies will not be provided.

Vet2Vet Coffee Hour

Fridays, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

April 4, 11, 18 & 25

Organized in collaboration with Vet2Vet of Ulster County and the Hudson Valley Center for Veteran Reintegration (HVNCVR), this Veteran Coffee Hour aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for veterans to connect, share experiences, and find support. Whether recently discharged or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome to attend and engage in meaningful conversations over a cup of coffee.

Registration is not required. Walk-ins welcome.

Getting Started with Genealogy

Saturday, April 5

Class: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Workshop: 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Ready to dig into your unique family history? Get started this spring by attending the Marlboro Library’s genealogy presentation on Saturday, April 5. Participants can choose to attend either the Getting Started with Genealogy Class or the Intro to Researching Your Family History Workshop, or both programs.

Class, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Attendees will learn how to map out a family tree, methods to record findings, review the basics of using AncestryLibrary.com, and hear about other free research websites.  Walk-ins are welcome. RSVP to be notified of any cancelations.

Workshop, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Workshop attendees will apply their newfound research skills to make discoveries. Search through genealogical databases and websites, while Library staff assist with questions or problems. Bring your family history as far back as you know (even if it’s just your grandparents), and we will help expand your search.

All Aboard the Newburgh-Beacon Ferry

Grounding & Centering Meditation

with Lauren Remer

Thursday, April 17, 7:00-7:30 p.m.

This guided meditation uses mindfulness to help you ground in the present moment to create a sense of inner peace and regulation.

This workshop will feature a short introduction, followed by a guided fifteen-minute meditation, and will end with space for participants to share their experience and ask questions. No prior experience is necessary.

Tales with Tails

Thursday, April 10, 4:00–5:00 p.m.

For grades K - 5.

Registration required.


Readers in elementary school are welcome to read to certified therapy dogs, Sebastian and Fletcher, from Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause! These non-judgmental listeners love hearing stories to help kids build their reading confidence.

Each reader will sign up for a 15 minute appointment slot to read to the dogs. Appointment times are 4:00-4:15 p.m., 4:15-4:30 p.m., 4:30-4:45 p.m., & 4:45-5:00 p.m..

Homeschool Meet Up

For ages 5-12, but siblings are welcome.

Homeschooling families are invited to meet up at the Library! The Library will provide activities like crafts, board games, STEAM activities, & more to engage curiosity, creativity, & community.
