The key curriculum standards that guide sexual health education in Texas are set to be updated for the first time in nearly two decades. The State Board of Education (SBOE) is expected to vote on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the health curriculum next fall following a lengthy review process. The review is off to a concerning start, with the appointment of a key advisory committee expected to be unsupportive of comprehensiv e sexual health education.
