Dearest Friend,

To everyone in our Frost Valley family, we are thinking of you in these uncertain times. I wanted to reach out and let you know we’re here for you. We are grateful to stay connected through technology.

In the Fall, we mailed our camper families a catalog titled: “Rise and Thrive This Summer.”

We had no way of knowing then just how relevant those words would be.

We remain optimistic that our Frost Valley family will rise and thrive.

After weeks of speaking with our governing agencies, heeding the ever-evolving advice from the CDC, and adhering to an abundance of caution, I have cancelled Frost Valley's scheduled programs until at least the beginning of April.

Normally this time of year, our fields and forests are filled with middle schoolers on environmental education field trips that they will never forget. But it’s quiet at camp, and camp just isn’t camp without kids.

Instead, many of them are home, and with good reason. As a youth development organization, everything we do is because we believe in the power and potential of children.

Right now, children all over the world are staying home. They’re giving up what every child deserves – time each day to learn, grow, and be with their friends. Staying home from school, sports, and their much-awaited Frost Valley school trip is a hard sacrifice for a kid to make for the greater good.

This summer, children will need camp more than ever.

I know many of us may be facing hardships of our own, and we’re so humbled by our donors who support us during times like this despite such challenges. Thank you. Together we can ensure that all children, regardless of financial circumstances, are able to go to camp and rise and thrive this summer.

Sincerely,

Jerry Huncosky
