Barukh Dayan HaEmet.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Amy Cohen, Gary Eckstein and Tamar Cohen-Eckstein on the death on Tuesday, October 8, of their son and brother Sammy, who died of injuries sustained when hit by a van on Prospect Park West.

All who knew Sammy remember his beautiful smile and the light in his eyes, his thoughtful intelligence, his athletic ability, and his laughter. He was to have become bar mitzvah on November 16 of this year.

The funeral will be led by Rabbi Lippmann and Cantor Segal tomorrow, Thursday, October 10, at noon, at Congregation Beth Elohim, Garfield Place and 8th Avenue. We are grateful to CBE for the use of their sanctuary which seats 1000.

After the service, family and close friends only will go to Greenwood Cemetery for burial and back to the Cohen-Eckstein home at 75 Prospect Park West, apt 5D.

On other days of shiva, all are welcome as follows:

Friday, 2-5
Saturday, 8-10 pm
Sunday-Wednesday, 3-8 pm

There will be a service each evening at about 7 pm. Kolot Chayeinu is especially invited on Sunday night, October 13.

Please contact Ellen Lubell from the Gemilut Hasadim committee, who will organize food and other necessities.
